This guy seems to fit the description of a man who while riding by on his bike (clearly intoxicated) kicked the side mirror off my neighbors vehicle about a week ago (just off 71/73 AVE). Unfortunately these types of incidents are quite prevalent in the area.

i worked in an office right across the street from chinook for about 8 wonderful years. Saw a few panhandlers in the area, but never had an incident like the OP reported.
One guy in the shop said one day there was a young couple going at it on the front lawn right along macleod

lol wut.
You know I just added the quote of Lou's post right? Didn't change my actual comments.
Some of y'all are very amped up. And have very active imaginations. "You're actually saying this! You changed what you said, it's totally different!" If only there was some way to see if these things were true. Some combination of words that we could reference, like... if they were posted somewhere. If only...

Fair enough. I mixed up two of your posts but you actually do suggest that the original post may be inaccurate, may not add up to enough to justify a post about it and that the whole thing isn't legitimate because you may have seen the same guy and he didnt look too scary. That's just dumb. If you want to soldier on with a thread about the best way to help homeless people....you should do that. That's not really what this thread is about though.

I guess he’s a convicted criminal now because of one guy’s story which doesn’t even add up enough for anyone to make a clear judgement.

Pretty sure I saw him last night (unless there were multiple dudes riding a bike around barking “cigarette?” at people yesterday near that gas station). Didn’t throw anything. Didn’t seem to pose a threat to anyone

So there's not enough in the story to make a clear judgement yet in your judgement he doesn't seem to pose a threat to anyone. I guess you're just confusing more than anything. It also reads exactly like you doubt the story in the original post. When you say something "doesn't even add up" you're making a judgement on the truth content in a story. Like as in "something just doesn't add up here". In a thread about how not to get a rock hucked at your head, you certainly do have other issues you'd like to talk about. But whatever. You win.
This same sort of thing happened on reddit a few weeks ago with someone describing how some random train scum was asking to borrow people's phones and then running away with them. That was a really helpful psa for suckers like me.

That whole area has become pretty sketchy in the last decade. Was there at lunch today and there were quite a few people panhandling and harassing people. The mini mall with Red Lobster has a downstairs area that is full of garbage and damaged property.

It is within the spirit of the topic. Some people have nothing better to do lately than come in to neighbourhoods, #### on them, and make everything about themselves.

That’s an odd take. You think this panhandler is doing it for the attention? And that he targeted the area intentionally or what?

Its part of the overall deterioration of the brick and mortar stores.

Screw jail or public retaliation, I think we should send this panhandler back to Alaska where he belongs

I used to work near there. It's been like that since 2005 at least.
