Default Kelowna Accommodations

Hey guys...
Well, its that time of year, to start planning summer holidays.

Looking at going to Kelowna for a few days, and was wondering if you have suggestions of where to stay. We can do it one of two ways - normal hotel room, for 2 people, or a place for 4 adults to share. Would like to be somewhat close to the beach, and aren't looking to spend an outrageous amount.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Well, in September we stayed at the Manteo http://www.manteo.com/ it is a bit more expensive but very nice and right on the Lake.

Beware that there is IIRC 17% tax added to the advertised room rate, kind of got me when we checked out.

GST and PST only add up to 14% (well, 13% now). where's the extra coming from?

I am not positive but I believe Kelowna has a hotel\entertainment tax on top of that also...

We have a 5% hotel tax here in Calgary. So 3% in Kelowna doesn't seem that bad.

If your looking for a lower cost bust close to everything, try the Travel Lodge, its across the street from the Beachfront Park, a block from the clubs, 3 blocks from my fav Doc Wilabies. Its where I stay when I go to K town. I stayed for 2 days last sept. for under $150.

I went on a road trip to Kelowna last year with some friends. We stayed at the Travel Lodge right down town and it was great. It was close to all the bars, the beach and restaurants. It was $120 per night for room with two single beds.

We stayed our last night at the Prestige hotel, which is right beside the Travel Lodge. The rooms were alot nicer than the travel lodge and it was the same price... so I suggest staying there.
