Just say you're a wiener who hates scooters and release me from this pain. I have another life to live! I have definitions of idioms to look up!
I say we get some scooters and hunt him down! Show him some real danger!

You have a hate on for data anyway so here's a bunch of links explaining that it might be somewhat or a risk to allow people to roll down sidewalks at 20 kmh. Lots and lots of municipalities are having problems with this...

About 92 percent (228) of the injured people were riders, and 8 percent (21) were non-riders, including pedestrians who were struck by scooter riders or who stumbled over a discarded scooter.

And that's in LA where scooters are not allowed on the sidewalk.

Ok, so you win. You're smarter than me and I'm sorry for wasting your intellectual time.

For the rider. Not pedestrians. Or else we’d have separate bike lanes in every park.

We do have separate lanes in some parks in Calgary. And bike lanes of course.

I for one will not accept this extremely risky and costly hazard.

When I am mayor, I'm flattening out everything. Can't have people stumbling over stationary things. It's a public health crisis that must be stopped.

I'll just leave this alone now....an actual injury prevention expert in Calgary says....

Quote:
Dr. Francescutti predicts there will be a lot of head injuries, plus broken bones associated with the e-scooters, adding because they are on sidewalks. pedestrian injuries are inevitable.
https://www.660citynews.com/2019/07/...ention-expert/

If you can expect 8% of all injuries associated with escooters to be related to pedestrians when they don't ride on sidewalks, that's about 11 in our first month. To me that's too much. Might be acceptable to other people though.

lol, quit being a wuss. They're fun because you get to zip around faster than walking. That comes with some danger. BFD, fun should be a little dangerous. How many injuries are there on monkey bars? WGAF? They're fun.

Again, I don't care what you people do, but if you're putting people in the hospital at this rate you're going to get your toys taken away from you.

People have literally no concept of risk. You see it all the time in the stock market and investing. We're programmed to fail. It's human nature.

So that's how people are doubling/tripling. My 13yo daughter and I tried to double on mine, but we both pointed our feet sideways like you would on a skateboard. We barely fit, but did manage to go around the block just for fun. Halfway she decided she'd be mortified if one of her friends saw her, but I wouldn't stop because that's hilarious. Standing feet together pointing forward is insanely unstable and totally stupid hah.

They can pry my e-scooter out of my cold dead hands.

There are plenty of responsible e-scooter users. Why should they lose their scooters because of a couple irresponsible mentally unstable users.
Doesn’t sound like freedom to me.

Classic Filipino maneuver . Load up a 2-wheel bike/vehicle with family (in this case, scooter), and get around!

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a scooter is a good guy with a scooter!

Gotta love how they're doing it as well. Dad is driving, kid is perched on the handle bars still but still being held tight by mom through dad's armpits, dad is pinning it, with mom's bag flapping in the wind.

This isn’t their first e-scooter rodeo. You’ll see way worse in certain areas of the world.
