Kylington thriving in this opportunity (assuming they dont fetch a vet that by default slots ahead of him) makes the flames extraordinarily deep with talent on D moving forward when Juuso returns, and you're probably then pretty comfortable in dealing either Brodie or Hamonic. I think he has the tools to thrive because his wheels and offensive instincts are a notch above your average fringe prospect, just has to get the x's and o's down. But perhaps Brad doesn't yet have the faith to hand him the 6 slot.

Now that Kylington is a de facto regular, he just has to switch to the #97 he wore with Färjestad. He'll be so much better if he does.

Strange that tre would say they will consider a trade. Kylington should be the first option until he whiffs. Ya he is young but he should be given first shot.

I doubt if a trade occurs its for a top 4 d-man. I could now see something more in the line of Frolik for a bottom pairing cheap dman and cap savings. They will battle durring camp and one of them will be the 7th dman.

I think we are looking at a Frolik deal for a depth dman with a sizeable expiring ticket. Think along the lines of a dman that were rumoured to be on the block or potential buyout. Possibilities like:

Pysyk
Jonathan Ericsson
Daley
Kulikov

With Ericsson/Kulikov, maybe jets/Detroit would eat some money to make it work.

Can’t see us adding via free agency as we need to move money out. But if we can move a malcontent in Frolik and save cap, might be able to get a win-win.

Another example of how the East media (Toronto guy) has literally no clue about the state of the NHL teams anywhere else:

Don't be surprised if the
@NHLFlames
sign UFA #Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner after losing Juuso Valimaki to a torn ACL.

Isn't Gardiner rumoured to be looking for a significant raise on the $4 million he made on his last contract? I wonder how Berger thinks the Flames are going to pull that off?

when it comes to kylington you guys have to realize this is the NHL and it isn't about charity or feel good stories. His contract fits in our cap, he's "developing".. ok..... BUT LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE GUYS - we have elite players in their prime, be a little more selfish by looking at this team's failures in its round 1 exit. We need to add size where we can, a big mobile defenceman.. no wonder Treliving wants to make a trade. And it's always possible they'll say kylington needs more time in the AHL at any given moment. kylington might become a trade chip, package him with Frolik to clear cap space - there's many possibilities

^ Wasn't Berger also accused (and guilty of) of plagiarism? Not that this makes a difference to what he's reporting. Unless he stole it of course.

Wow look a "nice canadian" Tim Horton's tells everyone about has shown up! You're really a scum bag who can't deal with opposing opinions - same goes for the other person who originally brought the sleeping thing up if that wasn't you as well.

Lol, watch Flames sign Phaneuf for $1M or something. That'd totally blow my mind.

You don't even have an opinion on Kylington. Just irrational hate.

You haven't once said why you don't like him, just things like I can't wait till he fades, by far your least favorite Flame, etc.

I didn't like James Neal because he was slow and his scoring instinct vanished. By I hoped like hell he would improve.

Dude, you've posted 10 times this year. 8 have been about how you hate Kylington. "Did he steal your GF" is a pretty common snark about such stuff.
