Looks like Sanchez was throwing his curveball a lot more tonight than in previous starts. Astros may have unlocked something, or it's simply just one game. Stroman had a very pedestrian start for the Mets today, again just one game. I'll reserve judgement until i see at least a few more starts before I declare any sort of opinion one way or another on either trade.
Also neat fact: this is the 2nd time in less than one month that the Mariners have been the victims in a combined no hitter. July 12th the Angels did it on the night they honoured Tyler Skaggs. .

I doubt the Astros have unlocked anything yet with Sanchez yet. Mariners are awful, fresh start, limited his innings and you have conditions for a solid start.
But man, is he ever positioned to succeed and be set up well for next year. And from Astros perspective, these guys were basically free. Fisher was never going to be more than extra outfielder with the organization.

Last night's loss notwithstanding, it's good the team has spent the week beating up on bad opponents, otherwise, the way the baseball gods made their view of that trade known yesterday would be far, far worse.
Second time in a month the Mariners have been no-hit too.

Lol of course the same night Sanchez and Biagini combine for a no hitter the guy we got for them misses a routine fly ball that hits him in the face and he leaves the game.
I havent looked but did Stevenson hit for a cyle too while we're at it????

This may be one of the worst baseball games I have ever watched.

Bo, Vlad and Biggio all have a ton of work to do defensively. Sure hope they have it in them.

Not sure why you have grouped all three in that category?
Bichette and Biggio look fine defensively, sure they will make errors.
Some of the errors will be related to lack of experience.
Vlad is the key, 3rd is a really tough position only time will tell if he is the long term solution at this position.

I lumped them together because they've all made errors regularly so far and have looked shaky at their positions.
Vlad isn't going to stick at 3B long term unless he gets into shape IMO.

It really is only a matter of time until he starts getting reps at 1B. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened as early as next spring. I feel the organization wanted him to get some big league experience at the position he is most comfortable in and then make the transition.
