I'm gonna miss Rhett. I know he's been mailing it in the last couple of years, but he still offered some pretty good insight during the Flames seasons. And I still found him pretty funny and played off Boomer well. Khran would be a good replacement, but I think he has a full time job downtown, so not sure he'd even be available full time.

But yah, have to agree the station is constantly bleeding talent. They really only have Pinder, Boomer, and to a lesser extent Steinberg who can carry a show. Everyone else is either too green (Klein, Matt Rose), or just suck (Kirsch, Nault).

I haven't listened to the Fan since hockey ended so I can't speak to the morning show this summer, but I'm assuming they'd be replaced with someone of equal quality, not necessarily the junior fill-ins. Agree about your assessment of Klein and Nault though.

True enough. But they try and do the boomer and rhett food and movie thing... its just no good. They also are not very funny.. they have a dry and boring delivery.

That sucks. I enjoyed Warrener and hope he's able to get into coaching (it sounded this morning like that would be his first choice).

On a related note, are people that vested in 960 and the programming it delivers? Not calling out anyone in particular, but considering I literally pay NOTHING for this product, I normally just take it for what it is, and if I don't like what's on I'll flip to a different station (granted, I usually only listen for 20-25 minutes on the commute each way).

I listen maybe once a week, otherwise I'm a podcast guy. Elliotte Freidman is a national treasure.

I like Rhett so it sucks he's leaving. I wonder if he's being told to go or is leaving on his own accord.

I also don't buy that there is nothing going on in the sports world. MLB, MLS, CPL and CFL are all happening right now and are worth mentions. Arena deal, Lucic trade etc. How about 31 days of evaluating the cap situation for each NHL club? I'd rather listen to MLB talk than what those two clowns ate for lunch or what chores they try avoiding at home.

Can't say I have really any vested interest in the Fan, but I do listen to it on my drive into work in the mornings. I take the morning show for what it is, two goofs who talk about sports, and banter back and forth on other trivial things. I find it still easy to listen to. I just think it's a shame that they're losing talent and need to fill it with people who are not as qualified. It does affect the quality of the show in that regard.

But really, I listen to the station for Flames and hockey stuff. Everything else, I kind of just either zone out or change to something else.

The baseball content always comes across as a mandate from the higher ups at Rogers to attempt to make the Jays a bigger deal nationwide. Personally, as soon as baseball comes on, I change the station.

Yep. Have to believe the Blue Jays coverage is mandated to an extent as they want as many canadians to tune into the televised broadcasts. At least they canned the noon baseball show which was by far the worst hour the station has ever put on. Really Toronto (attendance has slipped this season to historic lows) and Canada in general only cares about the Blue Jays when they are relevant so right now with the organization in shambles it's a hard sell. I wish Rogers would just sell the Blue Jays and get out of sports in general as they ruin everything for Canadian sports fans.

How many people in Canada are rich enough to buy the Jays? Honest question. That's an expensive game to get involved with.

That said, they are the largest market in MLB and when they're good, people eat it up.
