Blows my mind that teams aren't kicking down the door to get their hands on this guy, who is available.
Best defender in the league is doing it next to TJ, and he's at a great cap hit.
We can't find a trade partner? Are you ####ing kidding me.

Since January 1, 20 goalies have signed new multi-year non-entry-level contracts. Of those, Koskinen's has the third-highest cap hit behind Bobrovsky and Varlamov.
He's making $100,000 more than the guy who just won the Cup.

I’m sure, if Tkachuk puts them over the cap, that somebody will come looking to do Brad a “favour” the day before he needs to be cap compliant!

During his segment when touching on the cavalry FC he talked about how he would trash soccer around his soccer fan friends just to rile them up. Really gave some nice insight into how he probably approached things as a columnist.
Talking out of his rear for attention, the Francis way.

Besides the Bouma signing all of Brad’s RFA deals have been awesome.

Go to Capfriendly and check out how little cap space there is to go around in the league in general. Then note that many teams still have their own RFAs to sign, and that some of the teams with cap space have an internal cap, and then add we're not the only team trying to shed salary. Oh, and we don't really want to improve divisional rivals either, and the trading partner needs to be willing to part with something resembling a fair return.
I don't about you, but to me trading Brodie seems quite hard.
Stone is likely just unmovable.

If Brad can somehow get Chucky locked up for $6.5-75m then he's forgiven for the Lucic trade.

Leafs were going to trade us a legit second line centre for Brodie.
There’s nothing wrong with Brodie or his value around the league. Very team would take Brodie if there’s no cap. It’s just about the cap.

Yup I think something will happen soon.
I don't think it will be a buyout. Under a lot of scenarios, makes sense to keep Stone as a number 7 defenseman, with Kylington in the minors or playing a #6 role. So say top 7 are: Gio, Brodie/Kylington, hanifin, Hamonic/kylington, andersson, valimaki, stone.
Right now Tre has the OPTION to trade Brodie or frolik or Hamonic. If he doesn't buyout Stone, Tre will HAVE to trade one of Frolik, Hamonic or Frolik. So from a leverage perspective, Tre has maximum leverage to make a trade before the buyout window closes because he can say to GMs "if you don't want frolik/hammer/Brodie I'm happy to keep him and buyout Stone."
So if a trade is the preferred route, it will happen before the buyout window closes. My bet is that it's going to be a Frolik trade only, which leaves enough cap space to sign Mangiapane and Tkachuk.
And a Frolik trade now removes the cap rationale behind having to trade Brodie or Hamonic, which gives Brad even more leverage if another team wants one or the other.

Right price for Rittich based on small sample size, this is the affordable contract that will help assist the Flames on the shrinking cap space remaining for who they still have to get under contract.
Sure hope Dave massively out shines Talbot, I want to see Rittich get 70% of the starts.
It's going to be interesting to see how they manage to get Tkachuk, Mangi done.

The Flames have some contracts with ridiculous value, out of all of them, I think that this one has the potential to be the best deal before his term is up.
