I just hate when he gets compared to Montana. Also the media acts as though he can do no wrong. Like pretty much every QB I think he gets way to much credit when they win, although he seems to get no criticism when they don't.

the guy has lost one playoff game.

also, He doesn't throw his teammates under a bus like Manning, he never "blames" the defense for playing poorly and people keep talking about how if Manning had the D, well last time I checked Brady doesn't have Harrison or anything close to Harrison, hell he doesn't have anything close to Reggie Wayne.

Sorry, I've been a card-carrying Pats fan since the 1970s, and the days of Sam Bam Cunningham, and Steve Grogan. So has Habernac. We've suffered through all of it, so we make no apologies for enjoying the recent success of the franchise.

I don't know a lot of Pats fans. Most casual fans tend to go for the Cowboys or Colts.

I despise the Patriots. Being a Colts fan that's the way it works. The Pats-Colts rivalry is our biggest. The Pats knocked us out of the playoffs in both 2003 and 2004 and it's time to return the favor. It would that much sweeter beating the Patriots to get to the Super Bowl. For me hating the Patriots is easy because I am a diehard Colts fan since 1997 (when I really started getting into it) and the Pats knocking us out of the playoffs and the intense rivalry over the years makes me hate them. I do respect what Brady has done in terms of his career but I absolutely HATE the New England Patriots. I can't wait till Sunday to knock them out and give them the revenge i've been waiting for, for 3 years. You better be ready Patriots, because the Colts will be bringing their A game!

It is much harder to win the Superbowl now, than when the 'Niners were a dynasty. There are more teams today. The salary cap makes it much more difficult to keep a dynasty together. What NE is doing is amazing.

It would be hard for us to ever get along, cheering for the Oilers and the Colts. If you cheer for England in international soccer, I might wanna make the trip to wherever you are a give you a shot.

On one hand I hate the Patriots for defeating the Chargers yesterday (and costing me a dinner), on the other hand, I have to applaud them for stepping it up in the playoffs year after year. Even when Brady's not at his best, they find a way to win.

I'll watch next week's AFC Championship as a neutral observer; it should be an entertaining match.

Anyone who thinks Manning is better than Brady is completely foolish. Look at the weapons Manning has and he can't do anything with them in the post season. Now look at who Brady has had to work with this year. Doug Gabriel? Reche Caldwell? Jabar Gafney???

Peyton Manning has a hall of fame WR and another WR who could be the #1 on almost any team. Jabar Gafney couldn't even 'make' the Lions.

Also, when has the Colts defense really let Manning down? When they didn't shutout the Patroits because Manning could only muster 3 points? Face it, Manning chokes when it gets down to crunch time. He needs to play a lot smarter this week to beat the Pats.

Brady deserves all the credit he gets.

well, early 80's for me, trout. And yes, we deserve ALL of this success for the crap we went through after the Bears demolished the Pats in the Superbowl. No apologies from me either. My sis is a big Niners fan and used to rub it in constantly. Not anymore.

Joe Montana had far more talent around him than Tom Brady has ever had as well. He's not my favorite QB and he's not the best ever either....but he certainly deserves the comparisons to Montana who is probably the most overrated of the HOF QB's.

Far better talent is an understatement, he had the best WR in the history of the game. Hell, Rice could've been the best Football Player to EVER play the game.

Montana was a great QB, but the comparisons are valid.

You deserve all that success. For Chrissakes my teams made the playoffs 2 in the last 9 years and hasn't won a playoff game since 1995. Haven't had a sniff of the Superbowl since 1971. Than think about what Lions and Cards fans have been through.... Pats fans have had more than their share of success lately.

They run a good program there, thats undeniable.

Still beating you and Troutman at pickem made me feel a wee bit better just cause you're both Pats fans. I especially enjoyed Troutman falling off the face of the Earth after he boasted about getting back into second place.

Care to point out exactly when he hasn't gotten any criticism when they've lost? Actually care to point out any examples of when they've lost, because for every instance of them losing, I can think of 12 points to counter.

His team went 8-8 and missed the play-offs one year. They have lost games in the past.

Not saying he deserves to be hanged for these things but he is talked about as a god which he is not. I am also not implying that he is the only one that this happens with. Most top QB's have htis when they are at their peak. Elway, Favre etc.

Montana had talent and won with it. Brady had talent and won with it. Just because more of Brady's talent was on defense doesn't mean he deserves more credit in my view.

Brady is a top QB I have never said he wasn't just that I think there are better QB's historically.

Also what does the offensive talent have to do with the Colts crappy D in the play-offs. Manning hasn't played great at times in the play-offs but it certainly isn't made any easier when his D is horrible as well.

When was his defense horrible? His defense has only given up more than 24 points once and in that game the offense scored 0 points so it's moot how many points were given up.

The fact remains that Manning and the Colts were built around scoring more points than the other team, they weren't built around the defense winning games for them. It has turned aorund this year, but in the past, Peyton Manning has been the huge goat in every loss.

The Defence hasn't exactly been crappy. And they haven't been stellar either.

Those aren't good enough numbers in the playoffs

Meanwhile Brady is consistently putting up ~ 26pts per game (in the 12 wins that is).

It's a hell of a lot easier for a defence to win you a game when you put up 26 than it is when you put up less than 18.

Yes Peyton has put up some bing number in his wins, but he isn't doing it consistently.

It's the same with Goalies in hockey they have to give their team a chance to win.

If Peyton is better, he should be able to overcome the fact that his defence is giving up 20+ pts a game, he hasn't done that with consistency in the playoffs. Meanwhile Brady has done a fine job of making sure that even if his defence does give up 20+ pts, they still have a good chance to win.

As I've said, I really like Manning, he's probalby my favorite player in the league, but when it comes to the playoffs, he hasn't been able to do it like Brady has.

No QB in NFL history won more games...and with less talent around him.

One of a handful of guys capable of carrying their teams on their shoulders to win under impossible circumstances.
