Default Anti-Patriots Thread

This is the thread that all New England haters should report to when they want to complain. I created it, so I get to be the first to complain. Yes!!

I want to start by saying... Colts to go to Super Bowl XLI! I was hoping for the Chargers to win, but it looks like that went down the crapper. I am gonna need to kill myself if the Patriots go to another Super Bowl.

On to complaining about the team. The only reason I don't like them is because they have Tom Brady. Any other QB and they would be fine with me.

It wasn't much complaining coming out of my mouth. Well not about the team anyway. Hey, feel free to post your hatred here too! Let it all out. You will feel so much better than before you came.

I just hate when he gets compared to Montana. Also the media acts as though he can do no wrong. Like pretty much every QB I think he gets way to much credit when they win, although he seems to get no criticism when they don't.

For me I would take Manning ten times out of ten over Brady and if Manning had half of the defense that Brady has had he would easily have won three or more Super Bowls himself.

Brady is a very good QB and deserving of mention amongst the greats but I think there are easily 5 guys better than him historically and that the media often forgets this.

I hate the Pats, but don't hate Brady nearly as much.

There are many more people who adore him and basically treat him as though he can do no wrong on the football field.

I don't think he is hated nearly as much as other high profile QB's and from the amount of love he gets from the media it is somewhat surprising. He and the Pats are like the Maple Leafs of the NFL the way they are shoved down our throats.

I hate Brady, because he plays in the same divison as my Dolphins.

I hate him more however, because he just wins, hes too good.

I hate the Patriots more than any other team. Ally they do is find ways to win and there rearely pretty wins they just win.

I hate them because they're heads and shoulders above my dolphins and that ****es me off.

On that note I hate every team in teh AFC

NE Patsies
NY Yets
and the Buffalo Jills

I hate the Patriots, but I respect the hell out of Brady. I think he's a world class QB and has one hell of a work ethic to keep improving.

I do hate Belicheck and don't respect him at all. He was a big baby all year with Mangini and I can just about gurantee had the Pats lost against the Jets in the playoffs there'd be no hug or anything close. He's a little bitch every time he lose's a game.

This isn't the early 2000s where the Pats had the Colts number everytime they played... You will see a passing of the torch, franchise to franchise, and the Colts will go on to the Superbowl!

I'm hoping for a Bears vs. Colts bowl. That would be an epic battle to say the least.

Well, that was a fun afternoon.

My girlfriend's a Patriots fan and I'm a Chargers fan. We went to Schanks south, and watched the game in our respective jerseys. As the game wore on, I could just feel that New England was going to take it. All the stupid errors, penalties, etc.

I thought neither team played well today, which bodes well for the Colts next week.

The worst part of it is, now I have to take my girlfriend out for dinner at a restaurant of her choosing. Friggin' Patriots.

Of course he should be compared to Montana. And if he wins Superbowl #4, Montana will be compared to him.

If you think about it, the Pats could have won it all last year too. If a couple of big plays went the other way vs. DEN, they would have hosted PIT and beat them, then whipped SEA in the Superbowl.

I don't think he is close to as talented as Montana and plenty has gone right in the Pats for them to win their Super Bowls so I don't think they needed any more to add to their collection last year.

Not sure they would have beat Pittsburgh last year anyways.

I'm not so sure of that.
IN 13 games, Brady has passed for 19TDs and only 8 INTs - 3 of which came today.
Manning, on the other hand, in 11 games has 16TDs and 13INTs - granted, the Colts didn't have the best D in the first couple of years, but NO defence can make up for games in which he throws 4 picks... ask the Stamps based on Burris performance in the playoffs if you think otherwise.

As for the topic of the thread, I used to hate the Pats as well, but have come to respect them because of players like Brady and Bruschi. Both of those guys have taken less money to ensure the Pats can have a good team - granted they still make a bundle of money, but it is very refreshing to see players value winning and stability more than lining their own pockets.

With the Chargers and Eagles gone, I hope the Pats win it all, but the nice thing about having no emotional attachments is as long as anyone but the Bears win, I'm happy.

The arrogance of Patriot fans drives me nuts. There wasn't a Pats fan to be found between 1990 and 1995. They even went into hiding in 99 and 00. Now everyone and his dog claims to be a Pats fan. Of course the Colts are the same damn way.

But Belichik dresses like a damn hobo. People who aren't fans probably offer him scraps of food when the team arrives at the stadium. Than he pushes a camera man like a thug, but he was just being nice to go say hi to Mangini. The man is a big mean miserable jerk. I'd way rather see a good classy guy like Dungy beat his arse.

Hating the Patriots is what makes the NFL good.

No, seriously.

When a league has dynasties, they are recognised nationally; you either love them or hate them. People love booing the yankees, and loved booing the bulls / lakers when they had their runs.

As for Brady: I hate the way people shove his "three superbowl rings" down my throat. Superbowl Championships are TEAM accomplishments. Trent Dilfer is not better than Peyton Manning; Cory Stillman is not better than Jarome Iginla, ETC ETC ETC.

Not gonna lie here, I didn't start liking the Pats until around 95 or so, but that's only because I never really liked football until I got to high school. So, I can be accused of jumping on the bandwagon then, but not now, I have been with them for this whole ride and sure, the last 5 years have been unreal, but having said that, I hate the anti-Patriots stuff including crap like this thread.

I can't compare Brady to Montana because I wasn't really into football back then, but for christ's sakes, the results don't lie, the dude is 12-1 in the postseason, when he is gonna get love from the haters. Don't like him, fine, but give him some respect. Hell, I don't like Sidney Crosby, but I give him all the credit in the world.

Brady is better than Manning and this crap that Tom has had a better defence and that's why he won the Superbowls is crap. When the Pats beat the Panthers 32-29 in the SB, who led the Pats to those scores?? It wasn't the defence, when the Pats needed a drive to march down the field against the Rams, who drove them with under a minute to go in a tied game?? It wasn't the defence?? Tom Brady has got it done in the playoffs, Manning hasn't. Yes, the Patriots defence has been better over the last couple of years, but I'm sorry, I have problems accepting the fact that the Pats won solely based on the defence.

Brady in the playoffs 12-1....2-0 vs the Colts
Manning in the playoffs 5-6...0-2 vs the Patriots

Argument over.

Go Pats Go, I'm gonna be pimping my Bruschi jersey all week long!!

Care to point out exactly when he hasn't gotten any criticism when they've lost? Actually care to point out any examples of when they've lost, because for every instance of them losing, I can think of 12 points to counter.

For me I would take Manning ten times out of ten over Brady and if Manning had half of the defense that Brady has had he would easily have won three or more Super Bowls himself.

Don't get me wrong, I love Peyton, but a playoff performer he isn't (5-6), 16 tds and 13 ints? Defence hasn't had much to do with it. The fact of it is Peyton doesn't play the same in the way in the playoffs. Tom on the other hand 19 tds, 8 ints plays better in the playoffs than the regular season.

Brady is a very good QB and deserving of mention amongst the greats but I think there are easily 5 guys better than him historically and that the media often forgets this.

Certainly he doesn't have the best numbers ever, but he does have good numbers where it counts, and that's in the postseason. And he has great numbers where it really counts Playoff Wins, and Superbowl rings.
