That sequence doesn’t make it look too crazy crowded there.
Yeah that is because to access Galaxy's Edge until June 23rd you need to make a free reservation (at this time they are no longer giving any new reservations for Galaxy's Edge unless you stay at one of their hotels).
So time for a wacky Captain Theory, mainly for fun. But I was thinking about this today after I got home from a Quarterback practice and a New Hope was on.
Is Rey . . .
Spoiler!
Palpatine's clone?
Here's why I think its possible. I go back to Episode 8 when Rey falls into the dark side cave, and she see's thousands of her. Now the prevailing thought is that these were her reflections. However when the original Rey moves, the other Rey's don't move at the same time like a mirror. When she snaps her finger they don't snap their fingers at the same time. So what if what we're seeing isn't a reflection of Rey, but a representation of thousands of clone attempts by Palpatine to create a force strong clone of himself.
So lets take it further. When we first meet Rey she's on Jakku. Now we know a couple of things about Jakku from the books and the solo campaign in the last Battlefront game. Palpatine had a facility built deep under ground, this facility had a duel purpose. It was a store house of Sith relics and treasures. It was also a key part of Operation cinder which was a contingency plan to destroy the Empire and the most unworthy of Imperials if Palpatine died.
But what if it was more then a storehouse for relics. What if Palpatine had a cloning lab, or had cloned himself in the form of Rey and had stored her down their in Stasis. What if after trying to create a ultimate force user clone and failing several hundred times, he'd finally stored the one that was perfect as part of his contingency.
So why do I think this is possible.
First and foremost, because I keep going back to Rey's fighting style and she incorporates a tone of the same things as Palpatine, she uses a lot of thrusts instead of slashes, she also incorporates a lot of things that look like Anakin's style when he fought Dooku in ROTS.
Suddenly this makes the Palpatine laughter make sense at the end of the trailer. What if Rey finds a holocron or message by Palpatine telling her about her past and her destiny to rule the new Empire or First Order.
This could lead to a double flip as Rey embraces her destiny and Kylo tries to stop her. I know crazy considering Disney's search for a strong female role model action figure selling hero.
We know that Palpatine was always somewhat looking to replace Vader who was a disappointment and a rival to him. Before the rise of Luke, we know that Palpatines search for an apprentice would have been a fruitless search. Obi-Wan had vanished. Vader didn't know of the existance of Luke, Ezra had vanished into the unknown reasons.
What if Palpatine had discovered Plagueis's secret around the ability to make the Midiclorians create life. A super powerful perfect force creature. Which means that Palpatine could have created Rey and had failed many times leading to the different versions of Rey. Or what if he never did learn the secret and used modern science and the Kominoians instead.
Ayways just a fun and crazy theory.

I still think the desire to have Rey be somebody in the wider context of the Star Wars story is a fruitless search doomed to disappointment. I think it is not only OK, but good for the story if there are characters that can join the action who were not involved in the personal drama of our main characters, but still effected by the galactic events. It lets the audience feel that the universe is bigger.
All of that said, I enjoyed this theory, especially for the question of Snoke. Unifies the narrative around him better, and draws another link between the events of the throne room in RoTJ & TLJ. If this theory was right, I would hope it was simply that Reys parents were killed trying to rob this facility or something.

I also think this is pretty solid. I understand that not everything needs to be totally tied together, but TLJ went too far the other way and just seemed weirdly disjointed from the other films. We know the emperor is making some kind of appearance, and I really don't like the idea of him just simply surviving the events of the ROTJ.
How do you think it would end?
Spoiler!
Is Rey doomed to follow the path of the dark side, due to her genetic heritage? Or does she make a Luke type stand against the emperor and choose her own destiny?
Apparently Daisy Ridley confirmed that she would not be in either of the new Star Wars trilogies.
Maybe this means that something will happen to her in the Rise of Skywalker.
On a different note, I went to Disneyland last week, and we went on the Hyperspace Mountain. It has been completely renovated and is now Star Wars themed.
The coaster has speakers on each seat and is largely narrated by Admiral Ackbar.
I think it's kind of a cool send off for him, at least compared to episode 8.

There's what I would like based on my theory, what I think could happen and what I think will happen.
What I would like. We get the double flip where Ren gets redeemed and goes up against the new Empress Rey and tries to redeem her and fails. Ren kills Rey and then does the original ROTJ ending where he goes into a self exile in the hopes that there won't a rise of the Jedi or the Sith which seems to be a constant dark vs light war.
What could happen.
Rey gets tempted down the dark path by Palpatine's message. But Ren confronts her in his desire for power, but Luke's ghost intervenes and we get a double flip to the light side. Rey and Ren go off to become celestials to balance the force re father daughter and son.
What probably will happen.
Rey never goes bad, Ren continues to get worse, they confront each other on a new First Order Super Weapon, and Rey despite whatever evil parentage redeems Ren and they go to start a new Jedi Academy.

I believe it has been widely reported that the new movies will explore a different time period of the Star Wars universe. Possibly going as far back as the origins of the Jedi order itself.

Yeah, I'd heard old republic as well, which would be awesome, because there are so many era's canon and non canon that could be told
Early Era pre republic - The Jedi split for the first time as some of the Jedi start studying the darker aspects of the Force and are expelled from the Jedi Order. This leads to a great war where the Dark Side users basically create huge monsters to destroy the Jedi.
Early Era of the Republic - The Jedi fight more dark side users who have broken off. The Sith are eventually banished to the outer rim and forgotten about and they create a Sith Empire.
Early Era of the Republic - The Great Hyperspace War. The Sith find their way back to the republic and wage War, the jedi eventually win, and then decide to commit genocide and exterminate the Sith. This cause the Sith to flee and creates the concept of why the Sith want revenge on the Jedi.
The Bane Era - Another schism between the Jedi (Common theme as the dark side and light side seem to feed on conflict) This leads to Darth Bane betraying the Sith who he see's as corrupt, he wipes out the Sith Army and goes into hiding and founds the rule of two. I still think a Darth Bane movie would be awesome.
Pre Galactic Civil War - Palpatine murders his family and is trained by Plageius they begin the final execution of Darth Bane's grand Plan to exterminate the Jedi and create the reborn Sith Empire.

Interesting that we are seeing the term Sith used, and we haven't seen a Sith specific trooper since the non canon old republic.
Is it possible that Kylo has declared himself as a Dark Lord of the Sith?
There is still the question of Palpatine's role in this thing as well.
Pretty lazy design IMO....they just combined the stormtroopers with the imperial guard armour.
If they were planning on outright using the term "Sith" again, it would have been nice to have some kind of link created between the New Order and the Sith in TLJ....oh wait...they weren't planning anything, they just let two random writers write totally different stories.

Personally I really don't like the idea of the Sith coming back at all.
Spoiler!
First of all, if they bring Palpatine back, I'll probably walk out of the theatre. It would basically reek of fanboy service and panic. If they bring him back in a holocron that would make sense, if through the Holocron he instructed Kylo Ren, that would work. But please as much as I love Ian don't bring Palpatine back to life just to kill him off again. It would just be stupid.
I can see that, the climatic scene in the movie, Rey and Kylo are facing off.
Spoiler!
Rey - "Its over, I have the high ground" She standing on a box.
Ren - "That would be a weakness for us Sith if my master hadn't taught me about the high ground"
Rey - " Sith . . . . Master. . . what are you talking about"
Sidious walks in from the shadows cackling and throwing random bolts of lightning around - "Heyo"
Rey turns around and stabs him in the chest
Sideous - "Curses done in by the high ground" He dies and explodes in a blaze of blue fire
Ren - "I surrender, the light side and high ground are too powerful"
Rey does a soft shoe shuffle using her light saber as a cane as the credits roll
Second of all, bringing back the Sith or Palpatine spits in the ending of the Anakin sacrifice and all of Luke's life and quest.
The Sith died out when Palpatine went down the shaft and Vader died. Thousands of years of the Bannite Sith line and all of the knowledge and power acquired was gone, there was no successor to the line. Snoke wasn't a Sith, he was just a dark side user with a streak of stupidity. Ren isn't a Sith.
This just feels like panic after the lashback from the last movie.
