Well I feel for Schottenheimer. He tries to get away from Marty ball and his players quite simply don't make the plays. I don't think excessively conservative playcalling let the Pats hang around in this game. It was bad plays by players who aren't cut out to be champions that did.

Colts and Pats next week in Indy. Should be interesting as Indy seems to have been excorscizing those past demons every time they get the chance to this year.

Two pretty good games today.

They won by three points after getting some breaks. You really think they played better overall than the Chargers?

They won congrats to them but they certainly didn't play better.

The Pats also didn't make the stupid mistakes that can cost you a ball game. Football moreso than any other sport is a game where you can't afford to make critical mistakes.

even if the Pats do win next weekend, people like moon will still whine that they're "lucky", blah blah blah... whatever. This is a rebuilding year and they're going to the AFC championship game. Works for me.

No doubt about it that the Chargers choked that game away.

It's funny, Manning leads the Colts to the game winning points, he should've played better. Brady does it and he's the second coming of god. I do think Brady is the best QB in this league and Manning needs to win a ring to be in the same class, but It's funny how Brady had an eqaully if not worse game but will only hear praise.

How many balls did the Charger WRs drop?

And one thing I thought was weird in the 4th Quarter; they give LT the ball, he gets 6 yards. Then they throw twice and it is 4th an 4.

They have the MVP. With the game on the line they should have let him run it until the Pats stopped him.

Props to the Pats for finding a way to win.

O Please! For every Moon there's at least 3 people that beleive the Patriots and Brady can do no wrong. Turn on your TV, there all over!

The Chargers blew that game, they should have won and didn't and the Pats being the Pats figured out a way to win. It's just what they do, they find ways to win.

That 15 yard penalty on the unsportsmanline was an absolute botch job by the chargers and then the INT that was stripped was equally embarassing.

should be a couple of beauties next week, how about a Saints/Pats SuperBowl?

The Bears were luckier today than the Pats. That's a fact.

Is the real Superbowl really next week in Indy?

Marty was stupid to take a challenge on the ball stripped by Troy Brown. Cost them a time out and maybe the game.

Troy Brown just keeps making big plays.

Saints were pretty good today, While I still think it's the AFC's to lose, both of those teams will have had to win 3 games vs. the 2 for the Saints/Bears.

Only if they are lucky.

I don't think they were lucky last week in beating the Jets. this week they were lucky they got that strip because if the Chargers score on that drive its game over. They were lucky the Chargers recievers dropped the first down passes they did early and they were lucky the Chargers players were undisciplined.

They won the game and at the end of the day thats all that matters, but I still think they were lucky and that the Chargers were the better team. I sure that will make LT feel great as he watches the Super Bowl on the TV in two weeks.

I also think it is appropriate that the Colts should have to beat the Pats to get to the Super Bowl this year. So many years when the Colts were "the" team the Pats killed their hopes so to beat them when they finally make it, and should win it, seems like it fits.

I don't think so. Going into the play-offs I thought the AFC Champ would win in a walk but the Pats and Colts are two very beatable teams.

The Bears have the defense and if their offense had a good game I could see them winning. The Saints have such big play ability that I could also see them being able to take out the AFC champ.

With this final four it is anyones championship to take and should be an interesting couple of weeks of football.

Bears looked terrible beating a crappy Seahawk team. SEA should have won actually if Hasselbeck didn't try to throw deep late in the 4th. All he needed was a short pass play.

Saints are the better team, but CHI has home field. Neither team can play with IND/NE.

Is it really a rebuilding year? I am not questioning you personally because I know everyone is saying that but to me it doesn't seem as though they have a ton of young guys playing or that they will be more dangerous next year or the year after than they are now. They still had Seau, Harrison, Brady, Vrabel, Seymour, Bruschi etc.

The recievers aren't great compared to previous year but they aren't going ot be better next year. They don't have a ton of young guys on defense that are going to be better next year.

It seems that really only Maroney is a young guy contributing who will be better next because of the experienced gained this year. It seems to me that this is a transition year where they move to different guys contributing rather than a rebuilding year.

Pats got a couple of fortunate breaks, but made the plays when they had to, that pick by Colvin was special. Things seem to be falling into place for my Saints, we match up nicely with the Bears, and the best team in the AFC chokes......

I still am trying to figure out how Quentin Jammer has had a job in the NFL for as long as he had. He's horrible cornerback and should have been moved to safety at the start of his career. Not blaming anything on Marty, but I think his head is going to roll for this.

That was a very dumb challenge by the Chargers. I can't imagine his replay people advised him to challenge it. Probably something done out of frustration. No doubt an extra 10-15 seconds and a stoppage would have come in mighty handy. I also think the Chargers should have just spiked the ball after that first completion and stopped the clock with about 55 seconds left. They ran up unorganized, and than threw a 3 yard in bounds pass and the clock was at like 40 seconds. If you spike the ball and let your guys catch their breath maybe you can get an out pattern, or something else downfield. As is they basically wasted 25 seconds to do nothing.

Let me try to count the ways in which the Chargers shot themselves in the foot:

1. Not running Ladainian Tomlinson enough.
2. Dropped pass after dropped pass.
3. Florence's headbutt after stuffing the Pats on 3rd down.
4. Going for an interception when it was 4th down for the Pats. (On 4th down, you're supposed to bat the ball down)
5. Fumbling said interception, giving the ball back to the Pats.
6. Marty wasting a timeout to challenge "that the charger player was not down by contact." wtf?
7. Not running Ladainian Tomlinson more.

I'm sure there's more over that, as well. Chargers gave that game away, and Pats did just enough to win.

Strangely, both NFC teams look more deserving to be where they are, than the offensively-struggling Colts and lucky soft-schedule Pats.
