Always has been B arena, and it gets packed real early unfortunately.

The scrimmage was in the big arena, but that won't happen this year because the Yonex Badminton Canadian Open is in the big arena on Sunday.

Kristen Anderson @KdotAnderson
Thread: Jeremy McKenna is at #Flames development camp. A late invite. Goes undrafted (for a second year) but is Jakob Pelletier's linemate with the @monctonwildcats. So, there's familiarity there from the Flames perspective. Kid is no slouch himself though (cont'd)...

Finished fifth in @QMJHL scoring with 45 goals and 52 assists in 68 games. Pelletier had 89 points and finished seventh. But wait...

Grows up in Summerside, P.E.I., after moving from Canmore where his parents owned the Wendy's along the Trans-Canada highway from Calgary to Banff.

Born in Canmore, meaning that he grew up a fan of, you guessed it. And wears number 12 for, you guessed it.

I know it's probably hard to gauge seeing Pelletier just do drills but how does his skating look? I've read some conflicting reports, some scouting reports him as a speed demon and some say he's not an amazing skater. Just wondering what your perspective is?

^^
The reports I've seen call him quick as far as getting open, making moves, etc... But be doesn't have top end straight-line speed.

That's what he is.

He is very fast in the sense his speed is gained very quickly.

I watched him live a few times this year and can say he is quick. Speed demon no but once he gains his top speed his feet never stop.

He is not slow though, he should find himself middle of the pack for speed among our prospects.

This is the least anticipated prospects camp I can remember in a while!

I'll take the good out of it and reassure myself that it's because we have NHL caliber players in NHL roles, and don't need prospects busting through in the immediate future.

First two steps and gaining separation are almost everything when it comes to being a difference maker as a skater in the NHL.

I remember Hartley saying hockey is a game of 15 ft races - straight line speed is probably one of the least important qualities of a hockey player.

Just watched some of the videos and it was really good to hear parsons saying he was the best that he had felt in his whole time with Calgary. I am sure the naysayers will think "of course he would say that, he's not going to say he is injured or still having issues", but it really seemed genuine to me and I think he is on for a really good season this year.

I think some emphasis needs to be put on improving the defense in Stockton. I really think the poor d we have had over the last few years has had a huge impact in the confidence of Parsons and Gilles. If the defense had been better, perhaps one of the two would be ready for the NHL by now
