Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Kadri cares or even remembers the incident. It was during a game when things were heated. I think it would be different if the gesture was made outside the rink. I might be wrong though but just my opinion.

Kadri is a rat. Half the disappointment here is because it was something out of left field when everyone else is unwrapping new toys that weren't known about over the past days, not necessary because he makes the Flames better.

Brodie still has value now and in the fall and at the deadline if it goes that far.

Unless he didn't want to be traded period, and Colorado was a team he figured wouldn't want to trade for him (versus Calgary). But probably that's correct, being the more obvious answer.

Why worry about Colorado at all? They aren't in the Pacific, so the odds of facing them again in the playoffs is quite small. It could be decades before it happens again.

He got suspended over so I think he remembers. Plus it wasn't just a spat with any old Flame. It was with the captain, so that might give one pause when he thinks about teams he might play for.

That's two wicked deals for Calgary that got killed at the last minute lately. Imagine a Zucker - Kadri - Tkachuk line. Disappointing

Next up.. Kawhi not signing in Toronto would put the cherry on the top. Hoping that doesn't happen though.

This...If the Flames are in the west final they are likely doing something right.

I've got this bad feeling that things went incredibly well last year for so many flames players, no major injuries, but that there's bound to be a regression to more career average years.

I think having no trade deadline acquisition didn't help stimulate any kind of fire in the team for the playoffs, so they're crap play just continued on into the playoffs.

Going in with basically the same same team next season, feels like more of the same.

Last year felt like the absolute premium output this group can muster, banking on all out career years feels like a highly oiler'ish thing to do.

Flames needed an upgrade to the second line, needed some nastiness, and someone that could fit capwise. Flames also havr an asset that needs to be moved. Kadri was PERFECT and the leafs were prime trading partners. I honestly can't think of another attainable player that could improve the flames in the exact areas they needed to get better.

It burns even more to know the frigin avs, that made a mockery of this conference winning team picked up kadri. Easily a sweep if the series were played again now.

A lot of teams did things to try to improve today, and not that it stems from the lack of trying, but the flames are no better and clearly struck out in moving key pieces in/out so far this offseason.

Except Calgary still needs to subtract from its roster to make the cap work.

Until we see how the roster looks after that, we can’t be certain where we are.

But with the improvement of some young guys, we should be fine, if not actually obviously improved.

As much as I wouldn't miss Brodie I'm glad the trade never went through. I don't think Kadri will ever stop being an idiot.

I wonder if the sticking point was on requiring Calgary to retain 50% of Brodie's contract, like the Avs did with Barrie? I could see Tree not giving in on that.

He was the most obvious upgrade/match out there for what he would bring to the team and was attainable.

This truly sucks for the Flames.

I find this disappointing, because it just feels like the Flames aren't taking that next step to make themselves true contenders. We've barely missed out on Kadri and Stone now. Last year St. Louis made a splash to get Ryan O'Reilly, which is the kind of move the Flames need to make. The Flames right now have too many defenders, and teams are paying a premium for defence right now. Yet the Flames can't seem to land that last major forward peice they need.

Good thing the trade didn't happen. Don't like Kadri as the Flames need size. Kadri's a runt anyway. Any trade with the Leafs always end bad based on history. It's a blessing!

Kadri plays way bigger than he is and he isnt really that small.

One of the biggest problems with this team is it has big guys that play smaller than they are, and average small guys that play to their size, and 2 guys that play bigger than they are.

Really really soft team that lost one of its few guys who played with some edge and have added nothing.

My guess is it would have been done if Kadri had wanted to be here. I don't think Brodie would have nixed a move out to Eastern Ontario on his limited NTC.
