No. Carolina at the moment does not own Aho's rights. Montreal does, and they are not permitted to trade him.

If Carolina matches can Montreal just do the same with Point, Laine, Connor, Tkachuk?
Who on this board wants Tkachuk as the highest paid Flame for the next 5 years at 8.454?
If they offer the same to Laine Jets match and then offer the same to Connor?

I don't see that Tkachuk would get an offer in the same range as Aho, and I am also sceptical that he will sign with just any team. I think it would be under $8.0 m and I think the Flames would match. Tkachuk is most definitely going to carry the highest cap-hit on this team after he signs this summer.

7.5 .... a million less per year than Aho giving up his last RFA (9M qualifying offer) and first UFA year. NO the price has just gone up.
All the comments on Draistl's bad contract will have to be expunged from the record.
