I'm glad the goalie situation is taken care of early.
I like the idea of another vet added to the team but I would be ecstatic if any of our five young goalies (Rittich, Gillies, Zagidulin, Parsons, Schneider) were able to grab hold the reins by season's end.

I am pretty sure every team holds a press conference on July 1, even if its only to say the prices were too high and the market unappealing. This is a really weird thing to complain about.

Um, they do this every year for Free Agent signings. It won't just be about Talbot, expect lots of Q&A about what else he had going on today and the next few days.
Even if he signed nobody there would be a press conference today.

Come on man it's because he is a back up. Signing of a new starter on a team is news worthy in any market. He is what he is a back up to Rittich and hopefully nothing more.
Signing a back up is not news worthy unless it is some young phenomenon that the league is buzzing about.
Talbot is meh and his career has proven that.
