So hes decided to sign on with a rebuilding team?
I'm guessing the term is max and the dollars are insane?

How have the Rangers gone this long without winning? All the good free agents literally throw themselves at that city.

Well this should help their rebuild/retool.
Zibanejad, Kreider & Panarin should be a good line, able to light up the goal light frequently.

Belief is Panarin left money on the table. New York rangers are always an attractive draw.

Exactly.
You have to win by building your team through the draft and then rounding that out with Free Agents.

I'd look at that roster before making that claim. LOTS of work to be done still.

It's not just the big veteran UFAs though. It's stuff like the free college free agents, Trouba basically forcing his way onto the team..

Idk it looks pretty good to me
Kakko - Zibanejad - Panarin
Kreider - Chytil - Buchnevich
Andersson - Strome - Namestnikov
Lemieux - Howden - Fast
Skjei - Trouba
DeAngelo - Shattenkirk
Staal - Fox
Lundqvist
Georgiev
Only weaknesses I see are at 2C and LHD, and they only started rebuilding 18 months ago

A Russian leaving cash on the table? I'll believe that when I see it.
Russians only leave cash on the table so they can stab you in the hand when you go to grab it.

Baffled at the fact the Rangers haven’t won a cup in 25 years when they can just sign whoever they want. I guess it helps that they barely ever pick in the top 5 for that reason alone but I’ll bet that for some teams it’s frustrating that the one year they decide to rebuild is the year they win the 2nd OA pick.

You are being overly generous by calling those "weaknesses". I have most of the roster playing at least 1 to 2 positions too high. Lots of question marks both offensively and defensively. Lundqvist is another year older.
Lots of activity for the Rangers, but I don't know if they're significantly better than last year. Panarin is a legitimately big acquisition.
