It sounds like Matt Duchene will join the #preds. Expect his contract to come in with an $8M AAV.

As others have also speculated, while nothing can be signed until Monday, Matt Duchene slated to join Nashville. Contract can’t be officially negotiated until Monday but sounds like $56 million over 7 years is what has been discussed.

Duchene contract with Preds includes $28 million in signing bonus money. Year by year total: $10 mil, $8 mil, $10mil, $8mil, $9 mil, $6 mil, $5 mil.

Is Duchene a bigger impact on Tkachuk’s contract than say Hayes? It will be the RFA’s who probably have a bigger impact.

Figured the Habs were gonna land him. I guess it is Lee for them. This makes Turris available now. Maybe that's still an option for CGY.

Not a huge fan of the player and that term is longer than I would feel comfortable giving him. I’m sure he will be okay for the first two years of the deal.

And I like Duchesne but he's still a bit of an enigma for me. Had a big season overall but that's a big contract for a guy who's been up and down. The odds of a 20 goal 50 point year next season is just as likely as 30 goals and 70 points.

Put me in the Meh catagory for this contract.
