Pending trade call, BUF will send 2nd round pick in 2021 and 5th round pick in 2022 to VGK for defenceman Colin Miller.

The 2nd round pick in 2021 originally belonged to STL.

I wonder if VGK might end up re-signing Engelland on a one-year deal at League minimum to shore up their defense. With this trade (and anticipating the return to be nothing more than picks and prospects) the Knights are left with only five defensemen under contract.

Cap dump continues. Wonder if Pacioretty was worth it.

I’d love that trade and seems good for both teams.

Stone doesn't work. Czarnik or or a pick might.

Remember Vegas needs to shed salary. I suppose the Flames could take some of Stone's on.

Doesn’t really help them with their salary cap problem though. I imagine they’ll pay some team to take Clarkson’s contract and probably trade Reaves at some point for a pick or two.

They shed Haula’s 2.75M and Millers $4.1M in the last couple of days. Maybe the Flames retain 750k so they still have the 3.5M hit and Vegas still has 2.75?

They need D and with Mark being there I definitely can see a fit; I like that Vinny it seems reasonable even if we had to add a late pick on top of that. Reaves played amazing last year it was a career year in many categories for him and would instantly add a level of toughness that’s sorely been missing from this team for a long time.

Possibly. One for one, let the Stone brothers play together. I still think they want to shed though.

I don't see why VGK would bother with this if they could just re-sign Engelland at less than half the cost, which was what my suggestion was about in the first place.

I hear you but Pacioretty has played very well since being put with Stone and Stastny. They had a very good playoffs. I think that's going to be a scary line next season.

They get a younger D and are completely cap neutral with this move (if the Flames retain). Engellend is 37 years old and will cost at least $1M.

2nd and 5th for guy who didn’t play much and fell out of favour. With term. What’s Brodie worth now?

I’m still secretly hoping something around Brodie and Jankowski for Kadri could be worked out, but not sure that works for Toronto.

Still, don’t think we will find out what happens with Brodie until teams are done blowing their brains out on free agents. At the moment he’s probably worth a couple of second rounders.

I like it, between this and Montor, Buffalo has drastically improved their Defense in the last few months, at very little cost off the roster.

They save Engelland’s salary this way. But lose Reaves as a player.

It’s kind of an interesting idea.

Vegas went from having one of the best cap situations in the league to easily the worst now

Yes, but at least they are a real contender as opposed to other teams up against the cap that really aren't.
