And if the tech comes in on Monday and it doesn't fix the situation they'll waive my cancellation fee.

So I'm going to give them a chance because it would save me a ton of money.
Its stupid how they call peoples bluffs until Telus calls to cancel for you. We played this game and then Shaw comes back gives you an offer and offers to call Telus back to cancel. Imagine how much less work it would have been for everyone if you just gave me a deal to start with.

I've never understood why Shaw continually plays this game with existing, loyal, long-time customers while continuing to offer the best deals to new sign-ups.

They finally treated me like a long-time customer last time I called. But ya, I don't get it.

I think they all do it. I had a similar experience moving from Bell to Shaw. Bell didn't seem to care in the least.

They all play the same game, and to be honest they kind of have to a little. The trick is out now with social media. Everyone knows the phone in, threaten to leave, get a deal routine. We know it, they know we know it.

So they have to play along and attempt to rope you in/keep you/call your bluff without resorting to defcon 5 deals right away, every time to keep everyone when everyone's doing it.

At the end of the day, how can you say no to saving about $1500 or more a year on your cable bill? While getting upgraded at the same time.

I hate that it had to get to this point where you're as a customer going to war with your provider, it just seems to be a big extending of energy.

If thats their new strategy, I think I prefer it that way. I hated the rope a dope way of trying to get a deal.

Call, complain, say you're going to cancel, cancel. Profit?

I guess it cuts down on fake threats, but with the competition, there usually is a better deal anyway.

I want to extend my wifi to my garden as I spend a lot of time out there. Is renting the blue curve pods a good choice? is buying my own a better option. I tried a simple extender and it didnt work well at all.

If you already have a mesh system or are looking to buy one, just bring one outside when you are out there. Or do like I do, I have a strong wifi router in my basement and it covers the whole house, backyard and garage. Netgear R7000 is what I use plus an older R7000 as a repeater/AP.

Well clearly this time is a charm. They came in and replaced the box and everything is looking nice. They boosted me from Internet 75 and 300

So we'll see.

Sure enough. TV was clear after the new box and all day yesterday. Turned on the news this morning and you guesssed it. Pixelization.

I called Shaw, lost my nut, he did a signal analysis and he comes back with you're modem is showing weird RF signal values. We can . . . . here it comes . . . . send a tech out to put in a booster or signal actuator and that should fix you right up.

I'm like . . . freaking when. Well Friday night. In for a dime in for a dollar.

Argggghhh this is completely frustrating.

Gotta say CC, your patience has been pretty decent so far. I'm expecting this at some point though:

Oh its coming.

They're here tomorrow night to do the booster and accuator stuff, but I'm willing to bet that this is a problem between the building and Shaw, I talked to the building manager and she's having pixelation as well.

Well, I managed to get $106 for two years of Internet 300 and Small TV Pick 4. Not super awesome but much better than the $157 or so that it was going to be.

Doesn't seem like much of a deal, I'm currently paying $68/mo for Internet 300 alone. That's some expensive TV

Considering where it was before. Telus was offering about 175 for internet 150 and pick 11.

Both included two premiums ie Crave WWE etc.
