I highly doubt Federer or Novak would be complaining about this clay formula so long as it was fair (like the one used by Wimbledon is). I would certainly be just fine with it as Thiem and Nadal have been the best clay players the last 2 years.
Had Nadal given 1 measly grass event the time of day besides Wimbledon in the last two years, he'd be seeded number 2 for sure. In fact, he hasn't played a single grass event besides Wimbledon since 2015. It's on him and he has no right to complain if he's not going to show up and play.

It is what it is, it just seems weird that Wimbledon is the only one that does that. I think after seeing Delpo go down, Nadal and Djokovic will probably never play grass outside Wimbledon again.

So i'm finally going to watch Federer play live and I"m going to choose the US Open. I guess we have no idea when he plays until just a couple of days before the tourney right?

Guess it depends on circumstance. When my wife and I went we didn't know who was playing on Ash till the night before. Luckey we got to see Fed play.

First round match at Wimbledon is Felix vs Pospisil that's tough. And Nadal gets Kygrios 2nd round......thanks Wimbledon seeding. And if he somehow wins that, he then plays Shapo and if he wins that Cilic. Yeeesh at least you can't say he had a easy draw this time.

After a bunch of layup draws in a row, appreciate an actual challenge for once.

Kyprios isn't a challenge. The first time Nadal breaks him, he will whip out his ipad during the breaks and re-watch Game 7 of the Raps and 76ers.
Still can't believe they haven't booted this dbag off the tour. I guess the ATP likes their clown shows.

Sadly Krygios shows up against the big 3 and that's it. I fully expect him to beat Nadal then lose to Shapo. I'm predicting a Shapo vs Fed semi final.

Are you open to buying tickets for consecutive night sessions? That probably gives you the best odds, other than buying both day and night for 2 days in a row.
I still recommend Indian Wells above all else for catching your favourite player. Cheaper tickets, nicer venue, better weather, and you often only need to attend one day to see everyone play.

Kyrgios is 3-3 lifetime against Nadal and has beaten him before at Wimbledon and the Cincinnati masters. Both obviously huge events. Like it or not he's a force on grass.

It seems wrong that none of the top 4 will be getting the vomit enducing Roland Garros layup here at Wimbledon. Nothing quite like facing qualifiers in each of the first two rounds to open a major.
This draw is already so much more exciting. Many of the third and fourth round matches look like they could be epic.

I wouldn't say force is the right word to describe Kyrgios...more like pair of dice or slot machine or magic 8 ball that either means near walkover, or occasional random end of tournament for his opponent.
That's why he'll never win a big event. Odds of the jackpot hitting 5-7 times in a row are incredibly small.

If you gave Kyrgios a path to a major that involved playing seven sub-100 ranked players, he has no shot. If you force him to beat the big three twice and maybe Serena and Venus combined in the final, he's probably 50/50. That's why while he's obviously a major threat to Nadal (especially since he clearly hates Nadal), he's just as much a threat to lose in the first round.

I think i'm going to buy opening 3 night pass. $260us for assigned seating in Ashe and first come first serve in all the other courts.
I can't chance that Federer doesn't retire by Indian Wells. Also my cousin put me on his companion Westjet pass so it's only $100 return to New York.

Wow what kind of Nadal fan are you if you think he is going to lose to ass clown 2.0. Nadal will take him out in 3 sets and Kyprios will be lucky to get him to 1 tie break.
For Uncle Tony!

I honestly don't know what to expect from Nadal on grass anymore. This isn't like 2006-2010 where he was either the best or 2nd best on grass. Just as well I'll take an early loss here so his body isn't wrecked for the US Open. I'm fully expecting a Federer vs Djokovic final where I can sit back and relax with my feet up and watch some amazing tennis.
