No it hasn't.

10/30 USA
11/30 CAN

8 from the US development league is pretty incredible.

Lavoie falling doesn't surprise me. He's 6 months older, 4 inches taller, and 20 pounds heavier than his peers yet barely surpassed point-per-game in the OHL. Teams are getting wise to that trap. He'll be a solid third liner.
Edit: League should be QMJHL as pointed out.

If you hit on a solid 3rd liner with a late first round pick, you should be happy.

Top guys from Bob's list 19: Lavoie
 21: Kaliyev
 25: Robertson
 26: Brink
 29: Vlasic

After about 20 the draft became as hard to predict as they said it would be.
3 guys that there were some rumors of the Flames liking are still available: Robertson, Brink and Leason.

It's been happening for a few years now, but it feels weird as hell watching kids get drafted that also have fathers that you remember getting drafted.
 Yes, I'm getting old.

He plays in the QMJHL, which makes me think you haven't seen him play. Too much is made of that six months. I remember Travis Zajac getting knocked for being older, so we picked his younger BCHL teammate Kris Chucko. Look how that turned out.

You can find 3rd liners on the waiver wire...swing for the fences

Or sign them to 5 year contracts as free agents

Not good ones. Waiver fodder are usually an extra or spare forward. You have problems if a player picked up on waivers is in your top nine. Just ask the Oilers. Stars need to align a bit to get a home run on waivers.

I hope they find a way to get Robertson. Seems like a Bouwmeester type guy (not as epic a skater but similar idea). Kind of guy you draft and have on your team for years for a decent AAV because he isn't a huge scorer but great WAR type impact.
