That was a great goal. Prior to that, it was game 6 of Patrick Kane's OT winner in Philly.

Can we ask why? What brings an end to a 35 year streak?
My best guess would be a wedding, but not on a Wednesday ... so?

Which was not a great goal, and probably the most anticlimactic ending to a Stanley Cup Final of all time.

My kids sports. We have it figured out now though. My daughter's soccer coach got the game time moved up an hour (he is also a huge hockey fan) so I'll go to soccer while my wife goes to my boys' ball game. Otherwise both soccer and baseball would have ended about the same time the cup will be awarded.
There have been Cup winning games in the past where I haven't watched the entire game, but I've been there to see the final buzzer. Back in '99 we were at a wedding. The wedding was at at restaurant in Lethbridge. Dozens of guys disappeared from the wedding to watch OT. Thankfully my father-in-law was one of them so my wife (girlfriend at the time) couldn't get made at me.
Then in 2001 we were at a wedding at the same venue. My still girlfriend at the time had me figured out by then and understood that I was going to be upstairs.
There was a couple of other kids school related things but I made it home to watch the 3rd periods... now that the kids are older their events go later in the evenings and I was worried about this week.

It's the eve of game 7. Can't wait!
I find it hard to believe that this will be the first time in the Bruins history that they will be playing game 7 in the SC Finals at home for the 1st time.
Chara will be playing in his NHL leading 14th game 7 playoff game.

I was talking about the Martinez goal being great. Yep, I agree with you Textcritic on Kane's goal.

Even more crazy is Boston has played the most game 7's in history at 29. Chara has basically played in half of Boston's Game 7s. Amazing.

Game 7 prediction: Goes to OT and Blues score....but wait! It's called back on an offside review. Bruins win shortly after - good goal!

Hoping Pietrangelo gets the Stanley Cup from Bettman and hands it off to Bouwmeester.
