Flukely got mine a couple days ago from the EB in Westbrook Mall. They had just gotten 3 shipped to them in the morning. Anyways, the sports game is quite addicting especially golf, bowling & the home run challenge, my shoulder actually started to get sore after awhile. As someone already mentioned, Mario Party 8 will be pretty cool too.
I think it is imperative nintendo come out with Street Fighter for the Wii. Or at least a remake of the Super Nintendo version. That game would be so intense, though Wii related injuries and damage to household items would probably increase substantially...

I haven't contemplated purchasing a gaming system since I bought a Super Nintendo. But, I'm buying a Wii after trying one out at Christmas time. My wife is even looking forward to it. It is most definitely an innovative machine.
I'm probably going to buy an extra wii remote & nunchuck online through airmiles.ca tonight since I'll get an extra 50 air miles. I'll pick up the actual system in a couple of weeks. I'd love to have it right away, but I don't feel like hunting for one. They should be much easier to get fairly soon.
James.

Nintendo's advice to recover this is to change the wireless internet channel if you come across multiple wireless signals in the area, because by default most routers are on channel 6.
At any rate, I've tried switching it, and I still can't get my wireless internet for the Wii to work.
And it's really annoying.

I went through all that when I was setting mine up, ended up working once I set the router to channel 11 and enabled b-mode wireless devices on the router.

"Ensure that the router is set to broadcast in "mixed" or "b/g" mode. Routers set to "g only" may not be able to allow a successful connection from the Wii console."

Woohoo, managed to snipe one from BestBuy today! Had a program monitoring their web page every 15 seconds
Unfortunately it's for the office and not me though

Yeah consolewatch or something, but even that's too slow, the email comes 5 minutes after the consoles sell out. I was using Check 4 Changes, a Firefox plugin that would check the page directly and pop it to the front when it changed. Worked perfectly.

Ummm, I don't wait for emails. You can get sound alerts and the site updates every 20 S.
Unfortunately when Wii's have been in stock haven't been when I was watching the site.
Oh well, I can't really afford one now but if I saw one up i'd likely snag it.

I was trying that on the futureshop site, but I couldn't figure out how to get it set up. Every 15 seconds it would say that there was a change.. How the hell does that plug in work?

Yeah I was getting that too when I was trying to watch the quantity.. eventually I just added one to my cart and it gave a "This item is out of stock, one per family" paragraph, then I highlighted that and tracked that.. sometimes it will give a change the first time I try but then it seems to work after that.
Even the alert sound on console watch doesn't seem to work, since tons of people from RFD are using the C4C by the time you get to FS or BB website to find it to add it to your cart it's sold out. Literally tens of seconds is all you get.

You know, I really feel for you. You REALLY want a wii. Tell you what, and this is no bull, if I see one here in Red Deer I'll buy it and you can buy it from me at cost. If you've already bought one I'll just sell it to somebody at work.
In other news I picked up a 360 yesterday with my Christmas bonus Wal-Mart card. The wii360 combo is definitely the way to go........

To fix that problem, highlight the text you want to monitor > Right-click > Check4Change > Custom.
-Starting from the top, input 15 seconds where it says "Refresh and check every".
-Enable "Don't stop monitoring after first change". In case it accidentally detects a change, it will stop monitoring if this isn't checked. Shouldn't happen though.
-Enable "Don't refresh while viewing page". In the case stock actually appears, you don't want it to refresh the page while you are trying to buy the item.
-Check "Play sound" and "Bring to front". Otherwise you might miss the notice.
- Check "Delay between loading page and checking it". Then enter 5 seconds into the field. This is why most people are getting false alarms. The page hasn't entirely loaded by the time it's checked, so it thinks it changed. Entering 5 seconds gives it time to load before c4c checks it.
Here is a screenshot of the settings. Has worked 3 times for me. Once for a wii and twice for remotes.
Of course, this will work for anything online, whether it be a personal homepage or a store front. What worked best for me with the wii, was putting it into the cart and monitoring the cart page. As well, make sure you have credit card and shipping info already on file on the website with a login and password. Using c4c in the cart well keep you logged in, so all you need is the 3 digit credit card security code to buy the item. Anything to cut down the time to checkout helps. When I got mine, they were selling 35 of them and less than 30 seconds later they were sold out.
Happy hunting!

I picked up a Wii on December 27th by total fluke at EB Games in Southcentre.
I asked if they had got any PS3s or Wii'sin for the boxing day and the guy said, "We have a couple Wii's".
I was so surprised I had to ask, "You have a couple here in stock?"
And he said "Yes."
I picked it up and took it home and it is great fun. I have been away from home for the past week on business, but picked up a Nintendo USB Connector that allows the Wii to use the internet connection through my computer.
I am looking forward to trying it out.
