The 2018/2019 UEFA Champion's League and International Club News Thread
When does Alisson and Virgil get to be called the best player in their position? Both have been absolutely immense for Liverpool and have helped turn Liverpool into one of if not the best defensive sides in Europe. Liverpool haven’t bought in bulk like city but man have they bought some serious quality. Both these players are world class and haven’t even hit their prime yet.
Liverpool!!! Was a strange/boring game highlighted with a soft penalty, but I'll take it! Pretty amazing to bring home the trophy after the spot we were in after the first leg at Barca. So awesome to win a big trophy after a long dry spell.
I think the combination of teams who knew each other too well and the three week layoff were the big factors in how crappy both the all-English finals were this week. Odd atmospheres at both too which I imagine were driven by how much money the sets of fans paid only to be watching what felt like a preseason friendly in terms of quality. Still was a great CL season overall, just even a half decent final would have been nice. Felt like Mourinho loved that match though, tight defense and hoofball most of the night.

Atmosphere of a final in club football wont be anywhere near a match at a home ground
The stadium held 68k and spurs and liverpool were only alloted a little over 16k, which is crazy considering the size of both fanbases and how england fans travel
I think it should be a rule for finals that it's a 33/33/33 split between both teams and the home venue, ideally even more but I dont see it ever happening
Would also force uefa to hold finals in cities with major travel hubs

I think the early goal killed the game being a cracker, poch set spurs up to counter, liverpool sat back after the pen and poch/spurs were definitely too cautious to switch to a more attacking style, which didnt happen until around the 60th minute when lucas came on for winks
If the pk never happens, liverpool attack more and create chances, spurs get a few more on the counter etc. Think we see a real back and forth affair

Reals transformation is under way. They are signing Luka Jovic from Frankfurt for €60m, and Lyon defender Ferland Mendy is about to follow for around €50m. I guess they'll also sign Hazard for €80-100m when all is said and done, so at this point, I doubt they'll go after Pogba this summer. Probably Eriksen instead, who should be cheaper.

They can have Eriksen. I would like to see a clause where he has to take every kick for them in set pieces, just watch their misery.
