Can't blame him. I probably would have done the same if i was in his shoes. He has much greater chance being in the nhl next year with the oilers. Truthfully i doubt he would have cracked the flames roster out of camp.
I wonder if Foo has any regrets chosing the flames over oilers? He would have been playing in the NHL by now if he was with the oilers. ( whether he would have been any good is another debate). I'm not sure he will ever get the chance with the flames.

He chose Edmonton over Calgary. To me that demonstrates poor decision making, thus I am glad we did not sign him. Good luck in toilet town.

A no-brainer for the kid, no guaranteed NHL time with the Flames, guaranteed spot with the Oil and probably lots of chances in the top 6, whether he deserves it or not. Much more playing time for him with the inferior team up north.

The thing is, he could be in the bottom 6 in Calgary and still play with decent players. Not so in Edmonton.
Make the NHL for sure next season with the Oilers, but he sacrificing long term earning potential maybe.

Foo would be following right after Rattie. Same place Nygard is headed.

Half of these guys are waiver material, never mind legit top -6 talent.
If this Nygard kid has two feet and a heartbeat he'll get multiple extended stretches on the top line.
|
Half? You're being optimistic. Two of those players.... maybe three have value and would make it through waivers. Chiasson was a product of the system, I think 2/3 teams will still pass him by in free agency in the off-season.

These guys will often have out clauses to return home if things don't work out.

Guys smart enough to have those clauses don't sign in Edmonton in the first place.
Let's face it though, hes already better than at least half the oilers team and he hasnt even played yet.

Maybe, but I'm guessing the Flames were thinking of starting him on the Heat unless he blew them away in training camp. The Oilers on the other hand are going to let him play in the NHL from Day 1. Probably see some time on the top two lines as well since their depth is so horribad.

Choosing the Oilers is like choosing to have a prostate exam performed by Andre the Giant.

This is probably the only time you're ever going to see his name. So, not much.

You had me for a sec, except that guy(along with the whole cast and crew) chose Calgary. Even if they could've saved the cost of editing Calgary to look extra gloomy by just filming up the road.
