Sounds like he is going to attend a NHL camp first and then decide if he is going to make the jump to North America.

Rumored that he has an invite from the Jets and the Oilers scout has confirmed they have interest in him.

might be a Lerby situation where he'd spend a year in Europe after signing an ELC. I think it'd make sense, I don't think Bergmann is anywhere close to being NHL ready. Talented though.

I believe those were false.

The wrinkle here is this: Bergmann is still eligible for selection in the NHL Draft and he just signed a new deal with Adler Mannheim. The Flames could easily select him late in the upcoming draft to get his NHL rights but allow him to play in Germany, or they could simply wait until after the draft when he’s able to sign with them as a free agent. Either way, his DEL contract status would be a bit of an obstacle to overcome – but nothing insurmountable.

They said Lean in that video 1 time. Is that pronounced the same way as Drysaddle's first name but different spelling? Definitely not lean like opioid junky.

Not an uncommon European name. Sometimes seen as Léan.

Apparently, he had committed to play for the Western Michigan University Broncos in 2017, but that seems to have fallen through.

I'll lean on the side of caution before I pass judgement on this potential move.

it's a very uncommon name in German speaking countries. Leon is one of the most common names, but Lean is not.

Too bad WMU fell through... I used to make some extra bucks moonlighting for that team (along with a bunch of compuware junior B) for stitching up small wounds. I could probably still get some intel if he went there.

Probably ran afoul of NCAA eligibility rules, I think the Swedish U20 teams pay a stipend of some kind, but I may be wrong.

He's an overager, but the Flames have picked older guys with later picks before (Carroll comes to mind). I could see it. He seems to check a few boxes that the Flames would be interested in.

Sounds like the type of guy you blame for missing the playoffs after he doesn't score any goals
