Looks interesting but is it based on some of the other Watchman stuff DC has released in recent years? Because I’m having a hard time seeing how that has anything to do with the original comics, even if they do call it a reimagining.
There were a bunch of sequels or prequels 7 years ago. I never read them though so I don't know if this is based on that.
From what I remember the prequels still were about the same characters in the original graphic novel. This takes place after the events of Watchmen and features all new characters.

It will make money, if that is what you want to call a "huge hit". With James Gunn at the helm I suspect it will be much better than SS.

It looks like an awesome cast, but I don't think that Suicide Squad 1 was bad due to the cast as much as concept and writing, and belly dancing villains (So weird), oh and a really bad joker.
Here's hoping to a better version of SS. I love the concept.

I blame WB for Suicide Squad, it's a testament to the cast and director that it was as good as it was. After the reception of BvS the studio panicked and tried to change the movie on the fly to match Guardians tone. People online who saw earlier versions of the film say it was much better and darker than the theatrical cut. The whole beginning introductions of characters was added in later and the order of the film got changed as well.
Having said that, there is no denying the product was a massive hit for WB. The movie made $750 million dollars world wide (without being released in China) and has made close to another $100 million in Blu-Ray/DVD sales. It's the 12th highest selling superhero film on home video this decade. Add to that the huge soundtrack that this film had and I wonder how much it would have made if it was great.
