If you like improv comedy go to Second City....pretty cool place, and they have all the pictures up from the SCTV days...pretty neat.

Let us know how your trip went. I am curious to hear how it went for you. Toronto is a great city, the most culturally diverse and progressive city in Canada. In addition to be the most vibrant one as well, with tons of things to do everyday. Sports, venues, museums, culture, nightlife, shopping, fabulous restaurants, essentially everything you would want, is in that city. Probably my most favorite city in Canada, right up there with Montreal.
I would move there in a heartbeat if the right opportunity came along career wise. If you like the fast paced lifestyle, Toronto is for you. You should really try to go to Niagara for one day or night as well though, just breathtaking. Be sure to stay on the canadian side as the u.s. side is a dump.

Good Ol' Fashioned Bump-o!
I'm in TO for the week.
I was hoping I could get some tips to fill in the week.
Tomorrow we're going to the HHOF, Wayne Gretzkys for lunch, then we're gonna check out the gardens (or what's left of it) before the leafs game. Don't ask how i got a girl to agree to that.
Is Nigara falls worth seeing at this time of year? Same with the metro zoo? (lots of snow around). Whats a good comedy club downtown? Any reasonable/nice restuarants? Any help is awesome!

Niagara Falls is good at any time of the year (but from downtown TO may take you a couple hours to get there depending upon the traffic on the QEW)
As far as Comedy Clubs, its been a long time but Second City used to be good, and the main club for Yuk Yuks is there.
Check out to see what shows are playing at the Royal Alexandria, Princess of Wales or Pantages theatres.

Niagara is overrated, take the 3 hour drive to Kingston and just stand in front of the lake, absolutely magnificent if the weather is half decent.

If you're a sports guy (or gal), the Rogers Centre tour is kinda neat. It was pretty cheap and only took about an hour - but you go all over the place including field level. I had limited time to spend in TO but was glad I took the tour.

Back from the trek out east and I would have to say that Toronto wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. We were only in the City for nights so I didn't get to see everything I wanted which is a good thing.
A few things we ended wp doing was the HHOF, CN Tower, walk by the old gardens, that Castle up on the hill, night at the Royal York, Medival Knights show, and walks down Bloor and portions of Younge. Did the trip to Niagra and well although I saw the falls good god am I glad to cross that off the list of things to do. Niagra on the Lake was a different story. We all enjoyed the town and the Angel Inn which had a little pub in it with great beer and great food (probably the best during the trip).
I do really was to give the city props for their transit system they have there. Very impressed with it.
Funny story when walking down younge. We stopped at a tatoo place on the outside they had pictures of some of their more famous clients. Anyways sitting there looking at the pictures and I see Wade Belak, to which I had a joke about being famous. Needless to say no less then 10 seconds later he walks in. I guess he is in the market for a michaelangelo style angle for those that care.
Toronto reminded me a lot of NY (a lot of the same smells) but I thought NY was a little cleaner if that makes any sense.
In the end a good time but I wouldn't want to live there. The taxes are crazy on a $72 tab we had almost $20 in taxes.

Glad to hear you had a great time. Not sure why you were skeptical bout the city to begin with. Its a fabulous place to be, next to Montreal, my favorite city in Canada. Loads of things to do in Toronto.

You can always go to the historic "Halifax Drunk's 1st house". I'm sure whoever lives there now will offer you a tour!

I'm sure the majority of my bias against the city has a lot to do with the whole east west thing. I've never been out east so I really didn't know what to expect. Most of that was just in jest though.
