You got that right. No where near close to how you spell those names.

We need LHD for when Gio retires. I’d be hesistant to move any of Valimaki, Hanifin or Kylington right now.

Q:You’ve been ultra aggressive in building your defence. It was already strong (Mark Girodano, TJ Brodie and Dougie Hamilton), but you traded a first and two seconds for Hamonic. Why the overkill?
A: I think your team is built on your top-four D. To me, that is the heartbeat of your team. They stabilize everything. They are the ones who are either going to get the puck moving or not. They’re the ones who create your transition or not. They need to be able to get out of trouble because fewer bad things happen when you’re not around your own net.
You want to go as deep as you can beyond four, but the foundation of good teams is their top four defence. If you don’t have that four, it’s like building a house on shaky ground.

I would be surprised if the Panthers moved Trochek before either Yandle or Hoffman.
I don't think you're getting Trochek without something significant going back. Doubt the Panthers have any interest in moving him anyway. You're going to have to make it worth their while to start the conversation.

I don't think Lomberg is close to an NHLer at all.

Agreed, hopefully he doesn't Bouma himself

But, is there a picture of 10 year old Duchene sleeping sweetly in Habs bed sheets or Habs pajamas?

You mean getting a decent contract and giving himself some financial security?
Bouma didn’t price himself out of the league. His marginal skills did that.
Hathaway isn’t likely to have a long career in the NHL.
He needs to make as much as he can as soon as he can.

If you can’t be bothered to check contract status before making a trade proposal, you are simply wasting everyone’s time.

Monahan is a one trick pony. Kreider brings more to a team.

Then you need to say “ subject to an extension being signed”.
Suggesting any trade without discussing contracts is doing only half the job.
Few trades are made with an extension signed as part of the trade.

Poorly thought out.
Would leave the Flames pretty thin at C (the more important position) & awfully deep at LW.
This is the kind of trade that sets your franchise back half a decade.

Its a pretty good trick though.
In fact only 24 out of 906 players in the NHL last season were better at that "trick", than Monahan. Only 14 centers were better.
Awful proposal.

First Line Centre

Monahan is a good center. If the flames coyld get a 50 to 60 point center (or use Lindholm) Monahan as #2 center would be a very good option.

Why is anyone even responding to Monahan for Krieder? Just a joke/troll post. Even if it made sense for the Flames in an on ice way, they could extract much more value for Monahan. Try Monahan for Kreider + 2x 1sts. Contract situation + position = NYR needs to kick in big time.

Yeah, but Johnny just came off a 99 pt season, only costs about 6.5M, and costs nothing to aquire because he's already on the team. And a decline from 99pts is still better than a decline from 44pts.
