Can they both lose? That is my hope.

Sharks in 4 just to show us how far off the Flames really are from being a contender.

A Columbus/Colorado final is a distinct possibility with so many top seeds out already. Two 8 seeds in the final? Would that be the first time in NHL history?

I'd imagine the Avs will win this, but it will probably be closer than I think. Sharks are going to be coming in riding all the emotion.

As a fan, I can’t fathom why you’d want this. Wouldn’t you rather see the Avs go on to be a dominant force in the playoffs, indicating that the Flames aren’t as far from contender status as previously thought? Really can’t understand why a fan would want the Flames to be bad... do you hope the Oilers win the cup next year, just to really stick it to the Flames?

This wll be closer than the Flames’ series. The Sharks have the ability to sustain offensive pressure the way the Avs can.

Sharks in 6. Avs are an overrated one line team.

Tough one to pick, the Sharks have a cabal of young forwards that have received the torch from Thornton. Hertl, Meier, Labanc(where did he come from) really add to their veteran core. I'd really like to see how they handle MacKinnon and that big line.
Grubauer was excellent against the Flames but they were really "mean" enough with him and did not agitate enough. The Jones from games 5 and 6 was really good, game 7 pretty good.

I'll take the Sharks in 5.

*but this playoff format is set up to make good teams lose*. So, the top seeds shouldn’t have played the 8th seeds?

I’m digging the parity in the league today.

For whatever reason, I have never cared for the Avs and probably goes back to when I lived in Denver and they were gifted a SC championship team.
And I kind of like Thornton.

 Go Sharks.

I'll go with what I thought would happen in the Flames-Avs series. Superior depth from San Jose gets the job done in 6 games. Though that is only if Martin Jones plays like he has lately and not like the regular season version of himself. I still think Colorado's big three does a ton of damage, but unlike Calgary I don't expect San Jose to make the rest of the team look like all stars as they have more playoff experience than the Flames.

			Blech.
I hate the Sharks. Hopefully they fold the franchise before the weekend.

Will be interesting to watch the Avs face an actual NHL team in the playoffs, they weren't tested at all in the first round

Agree. Don't think Avs look like the force of nature they did against the Flames. Hopefully the hometown boys see that and spend the summer realizing what not to do to be embarrassed.

I thought Grubauer left a lot of rebounds (not in game 5 though) but the Flames just weren't around to stuff them in.
