Maybe I didn't pay attention in the earlier episodes, but I did not see Arya boffing Gendry coming.
'Cause you're a dude. First scene in SE8E1 with them reunited my wife said "they're going to get together." I was like "nah, I don't see it."
Women are the main audience for all this shipping stuff. There are whole layers of drama going on in these shows that most guys are oblivious to. For instance, I've learned there's a ferocious online war between fans who have always wanted a Dany + Jon hookup and those who wanted Sansa + Jon. Who knew?

I was the only one who though Arya was 14 or so? When that scene started I was like wtf... Apparently Arya is 18 on the show. Maisie Williams is actually 22.
The show previously showed Tommen and Margaery together. His character was 14ish at the time (the actor was only 16 btw) and Margaery was 100% taking advantage of him:
Quote:
"Natalie is a lovely person, she made it all completely smooth," Chapman added. "It’s just really weird as a viewer to watch -- even if I watch it, it’s pretty messed up, because Tommen is such a young kid. Margaery is like, this fully grown woman, who is really just using Tommen for the power she can get from him... But it’s good for me."
His magic probably only half works there, he can raise the dead, but not Turn them. Resurrected immortal Ned Stark to the rescue *Nod*
As silly as this is, it does make some sense. Presumably if the Starks were worried about their ancestors coming back as slaves for the white walkers, they would have started a tradition of burning their dead, not preserving them.
AltaGuy has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him. He has an unparalleled ability to communicate with people, whether he is speaking to a room of three or an arena of 30,000.

The dead Starks might fight for the good guys. Winterfell and the Crypts was built by "Bran the Builder", same guy as the Wall - he seemed pretty preoccupied with the WWs.

Wasn't Bran the Builder also who was turned into the Night King by the Children of the woods?

No one knows who the Night King is.
This may be a theory out there but it's not something known in the show.
I'd be cautious posting too much theory stuff here.
Although nothing is confirmed, a lot of viewers like to avoid these theories incase they end up spoiling exciting revelations in the show.

We already saw how the Night King was created. From the GoT wiki:
Spoiler!
Before he became a White Walker, the Night King was a First Man that was captured by Children of the Forest, Leaf among them. Leaf pressed a dragonglass dagger into his chest, causing his eyes to turn blue and turning him into the first of the White Walkers. The Children of the Forest created the White Walkers to defend themselves when Westeros was invaded by the First Men, who were cutting their sacred trees and slaughtering them
Don't completely agree. I mean, for starters, have you seen how much she tames her eyebrows in character compared to when not?
She's an extremely exuberant person off screen, and she really reigns that in when playing Dany.
Yeah her reactions to conversations and revelations seem "off" in ways, but also consistent with her self centered, entitled image which she has maintained throughout.
I found it was more that the Sansa and Jon scenes were frustratingly interrupted at odd moments, leaving the matters completely unresolved. Would be nice if they let them finish a whole discussion.
Guess I’m in the minority but I’ve found the first two episodes incredibly boring. If I hadn’t invested so much time into this series I’d probably consider not finishing I feel like this show has passed its “jump the shark” moment.
Episode 3 is going to be the biggest on-screen battle in the history of everything, ever.
You know what's coming. Do you expect there not to be some set up for it? Did you not feel the emotional build up for what's coming through the interactions, callbacks and speeches? It's making the next episode loom that much larger and have that much more impact. This is excellent storytelling IMO.
I mean... Were you hoping for every episode to be people fighting and hacking and stabbing?
I'd like to respect your opinion here, but the jumping the shark thing is way off base and untrue I think. If you're that invested, then that should've been more than watchable. They're setting up the bleak atmosphere amazingly.
I mean dude, you got a GIANT TITTY MILKING story from Tormund. In what world was that boring? What other show would provide such outlandish and unexpected dialogue?
Sorry but no. Boo this man.

What's interesting is that despite being one of the worst actors in the series she's probably landed the largest movie roles in big budget movies such as the last Terminator and Solo.

Ah the generation of instant gratification. Stick with it as you will get the action and deaths you crave in the coming episodes.
Really liked the episode. No Night King with the walkers there: still think he may be going south to King’s Landing.
With so many character arcs coming to a close, it really does seem as if there will be numerous deaths next episode. Could be anyone.

Yeah.....episode 3 is going to be unreal.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

I doubt women are different than men in sensing these things. Seemed obvious to me, and should be obvious to anyone that has ever watched a TV show. #SamandDiane
Leslie Jones is a big fan of GOT - her live reactions can be hilarious:

Maybe it's just me, but I like her as an actress. Yes, she's gorgeous, but I like the characters she plays in the movies and roles she's been in. Just my 2 cents.
