Yes, there was incidental contact in the crease, but it wasn't Bennett who made contact. Bennett drove the crease, but likely could have avoided and goaltender interference, the interference happened when the defenseman held Bennett and skated backwards, blindly into his goalie.
Even from there, Grubauer had the ability to regain position on the play as he was on the post even after contact. Grubauer turned and made a move the opposite way, which opened up the bank of his pad and into the net.
Had the initial call on the ice been good goal, I think they would have had a harder time overturning it.
