If they win tonight and Sunday, I will buy you a ticket to Tuesday's elimination game.

I mean I guess I thought we all have our own ideas about what making an impact is. Scoring a goal is making an impact. Setting up a goal. Winning the majority of your face-offs. Stuff like that. I'm sure you could add a few.
We've seen Jankowski have some impact games. Certainly his SH goals were huge momentum changers at times, massively impacting those games. He just needs to be more consistently impactful. He needs to realize he can be an impact player on a consistent basis if he applies himself a bit more. Hopefully he will realize that. I think Jankowski is a guy who takes a little while to get comfortable at each level before he starts to really become a strong player at that level. His history in college, the minors and now the NHL would support that theory.
He's still quite young. I think he's just scratching the surface of his potential personally. And I still maintain the same of Bennett. Both players have a lot of room to grow and develop still. Heck throw Mangiapane in there too. And Dube. The Flames have great young depth at all positions.

Excited for the game. Do or die time and I hope beyond hope the Flames find that extra gear. If not, I'll celebrate a massive stepping stone for this team that was a fantastic regular season.
For all the flak Smith has been given this year, he definitely deserves better than what his team has given him this series.
Can they come back? I hope so.
Will they come back? I doubt it.
Either way, I'll be watching and cheering tonight.

Jankowski and Lazar are the same age.
Correction:
Jankowski is 6 months older than Lazar

Re: Neal. Call me surprised. Risky move by Peters. By the sounds of it, Neal has not been happy with how he is being deployed. I get it .... be a team player, etc etc ... but I would have played my cards in the opposite direction and given him what he wants - 1L or 2L ice time. Easier to part ways next season, if you at least give him the shot to prove you wrong.
Czarnik isn't exactly a huge upgrade on Neal even if you believe he will bring more energy and speed to the game, and for sure he is not going to help much in the physical aspects of the game, which is where the Flames are getting beaten to a pulp.
Re: Bennett. Good move - hoping he finds his scoring touch tonight getting nice dishes from Gaudreau.

The Avs first goal last game (cost them the game IMO) was 90% Neal's fault
You have a 2-0 lead in the 3rd period of a playoff game and you are flying the zone for some reason. Of all guys he should know better.

Neal hasn't exactly earned the chance to prove anybody wrong.
He gets on with Johnny and Monahan after PK and doesn't do much with that chance. Even if your opportunity is small you got to use it.

As he’s done all season, Peters makes the moves he needs to make. We’re all in now — no second chances to get it right. GFG!

Strong words from Peters.
Surely the person who owes Neal another $24 million has just called Treliving to say get rid of that contract or it will be your @#$#ss

If there's any truth to what Treliving said about what the Sens were asking, the cost to move Neal might be a pretty bitter pill to swallow.
It cost the hawks Terrevainen to move 2 years of Bickell at 4 million. 4 years of neal at 5.75 is going to be an incredibly difficult sell job.

Yup, flames are going to have to eat it. Such a massive disappointment considering the type of player that could have been brought in with that cap space. Sucks for us

In fairness, I don’t think anybody thought he’d crash and burn like this. The last year or two of the contract? Sure, but not this fast. Brutal contract now.

Czarnik is better than Neal for this series just because of speed alone. If he does ANYTHING it will be an upgrade.
