That would be the perfect response. Tell his agent you would except any trade that the flames don't have to take back a contract or add value to.

Neal just needs some speed. He has to be the slowest player I've seen in a really long time. You can't score when you are always seconds behind the play.
Spend the entire summer with speed skating trainers, that's your only hope man. The game is becoming a speed/young mans game.

You could see it in their play. They didn’t believe they could hold the lead in the last 10 minutes of the third, and the definitely didn’t believe in overtime. If they did, that would have had more push on the power play. They were waiting for the eventual goal against in both cases.

I don’t blame you but I can see why they kept Janko in. As awful as he’s been 5-on-5 at least he brings something on the PK. Neal brings nothing.

Desperation lineup changes, but I like it. Hopefully it isn't too late. Go Flames!

I feel Hanifin has been struggling a bit too. Maybe change up the d.
Giordano - Andersson
Valimaki - Hamonic
Hanifin - Stone

I think it is a huge miss by leaving Dubé out, but I trust Peters.
I’m really, really hoping for a win, not just because it means there’s a chance, but because it will teach Neal that he needs to improve. If he’s scratched and the Flames lose anyway, he’s not going to learn ####.

But the PK has been completely ineffective. Even when the Avs don't score, they have constant pressure. The forwards, including Jankowski are just standing around and putting zero pressure on the Avs. Just because Jankowski plays PK minutes doesn't mean that he's good at it. You could easily put any one else there and the result would be the same.
Jankowski has done nothing and should be sat in favour of either Dube or Quine. Two guys who play with pace.

Neal out. Wow.
I thought Bennett has had an Ok series until I looked at some of the numbers Bingo posted. I hope this works.
Janko can kill penalties I guess otherwise not sure by he’s dressing. I guess it’s the drive and determination we’ve seen from him the whole series.

Disagree. Quine is a guy who can't even win a regular spot in the regular season. With our forward lineup healthy he just really isn't a realistic option at all.
Dube I see some merit in. But I think it was always Dube or Czarnik coming in, not both at the same time. I probably would've rather had Dube-Janko-Frolik than what Peters went with but Czarnik was starting to look a lot better at the end of the season.
As far as Janko goes he hasn't been great but hasn't been terrible IMO. Gaudreau and Neal were and are much bigger problems. Janko is not being expected to carry the offence. He was one of our best penalty killers this season. Dube's NHL experience is mostly at wing. It really doesn't make sense to take one of our regular centres out unless they are terrible because we don't really have a great replacement who is experienced playing centre in the NHL. It's really not a realistic move to make IMO.
I like the changeup by Peters a lot. I probably would've done it sooner but I know why they stick with vets sometimes (see Smith as a great example.) Neal has really run himself out of chances with his play though, he just looks done as an NHLer, no longer has NHL skating and pace. You'd have to think we trade him if there's a sucker GM out there this summer or buy him out, I really don't see him back next year.
Bennett needed to get elevated. Neal needed to come out. I think exchanging Frolik for Lindholm gives that 2nd line so much more of a dangerous look. Very positive changes IMO. And of course the 3rd line is automatically better when you trade Neal out for anyone else. I like the look of that line better, more speed. Great moves.
Go Flames Go! Don't go meekly into the night Johnny, we need you this game. If we're gonna go anywhere in the playoffs we need our stars to shine. Or heroic performances from solid players (see Gelinas circa 03-04). Or both. Need to see more urgency tonight, more grit, more speed, more desperation. That's been lacking too much this series, we seemed too complacent so far. Time to amp it up a notch please.
Go Flames Go!

You know what I was one of the people really down. But if we won last game and had lost tonight we can wind up in the same position 3-2. Doesn’t matter where we are right now if we win it tonight 3-2 has been come back from many times. I Billieve!

I too was thinking that they have to try Dube. However, I forgot about Czarnik. He has more NHL experience and should be good. He'll definitely be better than Neal has been.
Scratch Neal from here on out. Give him rest so he's ready to turn it around next year.

The thing about Bennett is his line with Janko and Neal has been terrible, but away from those two he's been excellent and on the second PP he's been good as well.

Same with the ugly 6-3 loss in TB. They followed it up with the close shootout loss in FLA. Then won 7 in a row.
It. Will. Happen.

Love to hear this. Neal needs to re-establish his Care-o-metre and seeing Gelinas outwork him at every drill might, or might not do that. Whatever...glad he is sitting tonight. The biggest disappointment to me.
