Beyond the slash, the avs player then slid the stick out to centre.

Mackinnon is doing to the Flames what Ferland did to the Canucks in ‘15. Only with way more skill.

yup...having the #1, #2 and #10 players in their draft year tends to result in a good line...
Mckinnon is the best player in the world right now... as fast as mcdavid, but plays a harder game

Trying to make that extra play as opposed to shooting

I wish I could yell----holding it in for the sake of my colleagues (one of which is trying to nap) is killing me!

Well you would have won 93000 dollars on a 100 dollar bet on BJs sweeping the Bolts.
Does that answer your question?

Several Flames had their sticks slashed. These refs are truly in a league of there own for Bad. Just brutal biased officiating.

CGY would be wise to not retreat into a defensive shield. Stay on your toes and go up the ice.

They make the Oilers look balanced to be honest. He's such a game changer this series. Can single handily dominate and turn momentum around for minutes at a time every shift.

Super impressed by the heart and compete level for the Flames tonight. And Smith is on another level.
But man, we still need to find another gear. Their best players still taking it to us for the most part. And Johnny just not looking dangerous at all.
Win the 3rd period and let’s build some confidence. And get home ice advantage back.

Matches the eye test IMO. Calgary had a great 10 minutes but the Avalanche have controlled most of this game.
|
Its so weird that they played so great in that stretch. Then just stopped skating and hitting. Why?? Just why??

The only way the avs player can get away with pushing that stick out to centre is if it is broken. You can get a broken stick out of the way, it happens all the time during a powerplay. It's if that stick wasn't broken that it would be a penalty. Either way should have been a powerplay for Calgary, whether the stick was broken when it was slashed out of Hathaway's hands, or if it wasn't broken and fired out to centre.

honestly our D being active and pinching IMO is the biggest difference of the game. we look much better when we play that way.
too scared to get burnt last game, backed off instead of playing our game.

Flames need to ice the puck if need be...so many of the chances are self inflicted
