Andersson and Bennett have possibly been our best players through 3 games. So lets demote Andersson and keep Bennett shackled to the worst 2 forwards?
I don't know...am I thinking about this too negatively?

You guys realize the coach can change his lines at any time right? If he was gonna make changes why let the Avs know about it?

Neal had 1 GWG, 19pts and was 21st on the team with 48.46% 5v5 xGF over 63 games
Just my opinion, but while Neal wasn't awful on PP2 (which is where 6 of his 19 points game from), the team played a far more relentless style 5v5 with Czarnik in the lineup (he had fewer PPP with only 3, though I think Neal's role isn't the reason for PP2's success in this series, it's been all Andersson and Bennett).
Czarnik not being in is very frustrating given his speed is probably the best of all the forwards on the roster and a huge part of what's missing for us. He is better than Neal, and not only marginally. Of course, the guy who should really be sitting is Janko.

I think its more so having Vali have a stable steady partner in Andersson (Which shows Peters trusts him more then Brodie). Brodie isn't playing that confident right now and having him paired up with a rookie D-Man could put way more pressure on Brodie and cause more mistakes.

The Flames are kinda stuck with Neal for now. First year of his deal, tough to scratch him in a playoff game when his success in the post season is a big part of the reason the Flames signed him. Just gotta keep putting him out there and hope he wakes up.

No change on the top line? Monahan has not done anything why we continue to put him there? Switch it up Peters. Monny is the not the answer

Yay for Maki! Fail for not injecting Czar speed, at the very least for our forecheck and pouncing on pucks. Instead we get to watch Neal sloth around. Wonderful.

Neal's not the reason they are losing. He hasn't been a difference maker but he's had a few opportunities and has looked more engaged than some other forwards. Czarnik has had his moments in short stretches but most of the time he's pretty soft and doesn't move the needle for me at least. Not sure he's what the team needs right now.

I've thought about this a lot, and for better or worse, I really think Brodie has to play with Gio. Brodie's early success this year was because of this pairing, and he can be good on a rush when things are going his way. But as we know he ####s up a lot (sometimes disastrously so) and so I think Gio the stud is the best option for working to fix his mistakes. Andersen is a rushing defenceman and Gio will also save his ass, but Brodie needs Gio the most.
Let's hope Valimaki brings some much needed fire and form to this D-core, which we know is one of the best in the league.

I would always prefer a few quality hits over 20 rub outs they consider a “hit”. It’s tough to argue against the fact that guys like Johnny and Monahan have been pretty shell shocked and extra perimeter these playoffs. Seems like Lindholms the only guy rising to the occasion but he’s got two boat anchors with him. It’s Playoff time! We need to get greasy!

Remember Francis at the end of the season suggesting the Flames, in last place in hits on the season, were missing an element.
Nope ... they had the puck all season.
Now they're out hitting their opposition because they've completely abandoned their game/details.
The top line has to realize you have to do something with what you're given. Every team in the league since the all star break has given them the perimeter and collapsed the slot to avoid the east/west play for a scoring chance.
Yet they still take the line, slow down, and try and flip pucks to the middle.
Stop it!
Take the wall with speed, get pucks deeper, send them to the point and crash the net. Get a greasy goal and maybe Bednar will be less happy to give you the wall, they'll start forcing the play at the blueline allowing Gaudreau to beat the guy and create the odd man chances they so love.
Adapt!

Hi,
Concerned about tonight’s game. I honestly don’t think we’ll win. We need bigger, faster, harder working skilled players to beat the Avs. The Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm line isn’t working so make a change. Gaudreau is out of his league but then I’ve never been a fan of his. He’s a liability in the defensive zone. In my opinion he’d be the best tradable asset we’ve got. Tonight I’d move him to a line with two guys who’d beat the #### out of anyone messing with him. They’ll protect him and he can do his usual puck hog wandering around the offensive zone. Also, I read where Monahan and Lindholm aren’t fast enough to keep up with him so put Tkachuk with them. We can’t beat them by hitting; we need to use out speed so I’d insert Czarnik and Dube. Jankowski has been useless so I’d only use him for spot duty and penalty kill. Definitely not a fan of Neil.
Tkachuk Monahan Lindholm
Gaudreau Bennett Hathaway
Mangiapane Backlund Frolik
Czarnik Ryan Dube
Jankowski
Giordano Brodie
Valimaki (Fantenberg) Anderson
Hanifin Hamonic

I don't know. The Bruins weren't afraid to sit Backes so they could have a faster lineup to counter the Leafs. Of course, they are also losing...

First time I've actually been nervous in this series. I don't like it.
Respond well, Calgary, and bring me back my excitement!

I just don't see it with Czarnik.
He had decent possession numbers, but is near the bottom of the team in individual rates like shots60, HD chances60 and even CF60.
He's a perimeter player.
Given the way some guys have played, I don't mind him coming in over many of them, but he's no saviour.
Out of 13 forwards this year ...

This could be for the players benefit and a little gamesmanship thrown in but it makes me feel encouraged.
