I don't understand how Thornton doesn't get suspended for that. That's the worst hit of the playoffs so far.

Thoughts? |
They are addressing it after the Kadri hearing at 11:00.

Good. That's way worse than the Ferland hit that the officials felt was worthy of 5 and a game.

Worth Valimaki? Maybe not, but he's also not even cracking our playoff line up yet.

Stone is a top 10-20 forward in his prime. As good as Valimaki is he doesn’t project nearly that high. If they could have worked out a contract that works for player and team I would have personally driven Valimaki to Ottawa.

That Thornton hit should have been an ejection.

^^I don't think the Flames look at it that way, they project him as a Giordano's replacement. So you could be talking about a 10-15 year career as a number 1 with the Flames vs 3 years of a "top forward". No one projected Gio as a top defensemen either.
Another problem is that Vegas had a marginally better cap scenario prior to the deal being made. Had Vegas kept Neal instead of him being signed by Calgary this may have ended up differently.

'marginally'

They added a 7.5 million dollar player at the deadline without sending out any salary and finished the season with twice as much cap space as the Flames.

Fortunately for Vegas, they didn't keep Neal.

The Golden Knights made the trade for Stone. The Flames signed James Neal. History can't be changed. I'm not sure why people continue to beat this horse.

This Kane-Reaves beef has become really entertaining. The small respect I gave to evander for fighting Reaves is now gone. He didn’t really hit you? Then why did your helmet pop off tough guy? Pure arrogance- in his mind I bet he thinks he won. Let’s see round 2 tonight and see what RR does to you.

That's a pretty decisive win by Vegas to go up 3-1 in the series. Anyone think the Sharks make the comeback at this point?

Probably not. But it’s never over until it is.

The margins are simply too thin these days.

Vegas with Smith in beast mode look pretty good right now.

Can't see the Sharks coming back in this series. Particularly because of Martin Jones.

Poor goaltending is a fatal flaw in the playoffs. Dell had worse regular season stats than Jones so he doesn't look like much of a solution.

In the playoffs its hard to win when you are consistently down 1-0 in the first 5 minutes of the game.
San Jose might win game 5 but they can't win in Vegas.
