I'm glad we don't do the celebratory machine gun fire here like they do in some places. I think my riding would be bad for that. I think my neighbor is building a tank. I wish I knew who he voted for.

I highly doubt she lost many votes because of the way she campaigned and you weren’t going to vote NDP anyway. It was a lost cause and she was grasping at straws.

I hope Greg Clark stays in politics. We need more candidates like him across all parties.

Let me put it to you this way. Let's say the PCs or WR won the last election. And then the economy was the same. They would've lost too. And then we would've had... well, whatever.
Well that ignores the results of elections during every other oil downturn we have had in the last 40-50 years. The NDP win was a near perfect vote split with a tired scandal ridden party on one side and a "lake of fire" party on the other side. This time the NDP pulled most of the anti-UCP vote possible and still lost huge.

So now that he's premier, are we going to throw up a court challenge to impede the RCMP investigation or are we going to toss Jason a bone on this one and see how it plays out? Here's hoping he doesn't disable the electoral office beforehand!

Quid pro quo. RCMP investigation happens, Ceci gets fed to the dogs.

Do the RCMP get involved in feeding dogs? I would assume based on recent history they are more concerned with electoral fraud but I could be wrong.

No one thought the NEP was Alberta's fault. If anything Lougheed's response cemented the PCs even further. Getty went nuts with the debt, and then they shot him in the kneecaps, so the incumbent was self-immolated. No way the NDP were going to shelf Notley.

The NDP can't really afford to lose Ceci. He's their second best MLA.

I realize you only think of politics in abstract, mostly absurd terms, and ignore practical concerns.

I don't think anyone expected the NDP to shelf Notley but I think may felt that she made a bad situation worse rather than championing our largest industry from day 1. Is that fair? her supporters would say no. I've seen a few downturns and this has not been a good recovery, not even sure you can call it a recovery after 4 years.

I know it will take some time getting used to it, but we need to focus on our new government. Obsessing about Ceci at this point is a waste of effort, you may consider changing your focus.
