Jesus, are you going to be this insufferable for the next 4-to-40 years?

I’d like to know if he ever drove a truck before he ran for premier. Actually I don’t care.

I hope he succeeds and the progressives who support him can keep the social conservatives in check.

I mean I don’t care if they get laid off any more or less than a random Husky employee I don’t know. I just wondered if someone had something worthy to say that might make them feel better, because I had a whole lot of nothing.

Again, no reason to be a dick. This is a person worried about losing their job if there are cuts made, and the fear (though, seems to be a little unfounded) is that cuts are coming soon. It’s not about a “right” to job security. Cuts happen, they seem to understand that, it’s that the likelihood of cuts to them has gone up and gotten closer.

I appreciate the need to make this some rant about public sector workers for you, but maybe not the best time or place.

If I had phrased the question “my friend is in a industry that’s gotten really rocky and is worried about losing their job, what should I say?” would you be better able to provide useful advice?

But thanks again to GGG and Estrada for their responses, I don’t think it made them feel better, but at least I have them something!
My wife lost her job last year. What do you want to say to her? Say the same things to your buddy.

The last one was insufferable for 4 years. I think that's the norm.

Regardless of your politics Kenney is dropping straight truth right now.

Maybe you should have been reading the numerous posts over the past 4 years asking the same things?

It’s as if you never even considered the reality a majority of Albertans were facing?

So Alberta voters have collectively said they don't care what kind of shady or even illegal things their party leader does, it doesn't matter. Expect to see all leadership races in this province to get really ugly in the future

Yep. Contrast with Notley who talked all about herself.

People losing their jobs is always ####ty, I’ve been through the hunger games at work 6 times in 4 years. Its the reality of the economy going forward, no one is owed a job that lasts their career with no potential disruption.

Kenney looks exhausted, makeup can't hide those bags. Hopefully he gets a couple good nights sleep over the next couple of days. Actually hopefully all the leaders get a good sleep and we can get back to some sanity.

Based on what he is saying he's going to court the First Nations hard to get support for pipelines, good.

Shocked to see Greg Clark not get re elected. He's a great person and politican and did a great job as the former leader of the AB party.

He's already calling out to Canadians to unite, and then also calling out provinces that he prefers to work with. That's some real uniting leadership right there.
