Why should a front-line employee, in this day and age, feel a right to job security regardless of being in the employ of a public or private enterprise? I'd love to understand that rationale?

A public sector employee already makes over 10 percent more than an equivalent private sector employee. Add on the pension and this apparent 'right' to job security and, wow, maybe I should join the public service!!

Makes sense, she is the more popular than Kenny and about 20 points more popular than her party.

I really hope when Singh gets the boot that she can take over federally and become a pro Labour Party instead of the wacko environment party.

I was thinking it earlier too, but you have to think she pissed off a lot of her own party in the last few years.

It would be a really good move though

I'm thinking early voters tend to attract those eager for change.

My wife is watching Notley's speech; impossible to listen to it with a straight face, I just walked out of the room. She is beyond pathetic.

Well it's good that you care about layoffs now that it might affect someone you know.

You are a very narrow minded person.

They only jobs the NDP were fighting for was their own. Failed at that too.

Kenney is going to be like a broken record and repeating a false bill of goods he can't deliver on. I expect Albertans to start figuring this out in about year 2.

Like I said, Notley should be firing her strategy consultants and communication consultants because she ran a horrible campaign and the results show it.

If anything the gap widened in the end and the UCP squashed them seat wise and captured more then 50% of the popular vote.

I would think that its going to be a interesting postmortem.

That's actually a good thing, she is by far the best MLA the NDP has, it's not even close. Hopefully she can leave the toxic crap behind and get back to normal.

Not really. In the the federal NDP world, she's their Jason Kenney: extreme right wing and scary.

Glad she is staying on as leader of HMLO. We've never had an ex-premier sitting in that seat in this province, it should provide an interesting counterpoint to the UCP gov't.

I agree with whomever suggested that she run for leadership of the federal NDP... She could help bring them back from the brink and help split the left ... Alternatively, someone get the defibrillator paddles and bring back Jack Layton, please!!
