NDP radio ad this morning ended with "Well, Rachel Notley isn't perfect but she is a much better choice for Alberta!" Very positive, I thought.

Notley has no one to blame but herself. She needed to give a BIG FU to the Federal NDP party and Tom Mulcair when they started railing against pipelines. Had a 2nd chance when Hulk Horgan went full idiot with the green party.

Rename the party to anything that didn't a N, a D, or a P in the name and she had a chance against terrible Kenney.

I don't even know where the AP goes from here. I just didn't think much of their campaign or communications. Mandal was just a bad choice as a leader. Losing their seats is devastating.

CBC talking all social issues including, believe it or not, abortion and white supremacy. Saying the UCP disappointed because many thought they would get 70 seats. I want my billion dollars back.

The biggest loser tonight has to be the Alberta Party. There are really no positives, and nothing to build on here.

In your opinion what portion of that is the NDP? What amount of deficit would have been run up by a different party.

Based on the UCP platform they have the same belief on killing the deficit of grow the economy to fix the deficit. So it would be unreasonable to assume that they would have Cut to prevent the deficit in the wake of the recession.

He even plans to cut Carbon taxes (effectively a pst) without cutting spending to offset.

So saying she racked up is a bit of a misnomer.

You know I don't know if that applies all over across the city to be honest.

I live and work in the burbs. Lots of economic issues, lots of empty commercial spaces. But talking politics the last week or so the social missteps of the UCP really stuck with many folks.

These are people that still believe in trickle-down economics.

It is telling that a party that only won a single seat last election is the biggest loser in this one

There's Edmonton South-West where the UCP is currently ahead:

They just showed him in 3rd behind the UCP candidate in Edm. That's not good.

I still remember the delicious tears flowing from the CBC on election night when Harper won his majority.

This result is hardly disappointing for the UCP. If anything the NDP has to be shell shocked, not because of the amount of people lost, but the cabinet members who were bounced.

I believe they agreed that Kenny would take the Harper approach to social issues. It seemed pretty reasonable.

I believe you. But how else could you explain this? Of the entire province - only Edmonton.
