The team has a #2C playing #1 and a #3 playing #2. Not enough skill down the middle. Neither are dynamic

Embarrassing is a word that could still be used for a performance far less tilted than this.

This group of Monahan/Gaudreau/Tkachuck/Backlund/Giordano is about to be 1-6 in their last 7 playoff games. This group is not able to get it done in the playoffs. Nobody in the NHL is remotely scared of them.

How does Tampa and the Pens being down 3-0 help us? Someone explain.

Our problem is we've been A) skating slower than them, and B) backing off and not clogging up anything
Hence the series so far. It's really not rocket surgery.
You'd think these are the ABCs of playoff hockey and that Bill would have those bases covered...

Well in game adjustments for one. Put his big three together in game 2 to get them going. So he has the ability to change his line combos. He has basically taken away the Flames defence from the offence with adjustments after game one.
You might be right though, Bednar might not be outclassing him as much as Peters is changing absolutely nothing.

RANDOM THOUGHTS FROM A BEATDOWN
* Smith should've been pulled after the fourth goal - not because he's done anything wrong but the way this game is trending, more risk leaving him in in case it gets even worse. Putting in Rittich gets him some experience and sees if he creates a spark.
* With a couple exceptions (Bennett, Hathaway), why do our guys never seem to hit anyone?
* I thought we might be heading for an '04 rematch in the Cup final and instead, we're playing like the Calgary Bay Lightning.
* Can we work our third period magic like the regular season? (Probably not - this is clearly *not* the regular season but our main guys haven't figured that out.)
* It's not the reason we're losing but I've always hated how refs are selective about how/when they call penalties - depending on the period, depending on the score, depending if its regular season or playoffs.
* Why not mix up the lines a bit? What do we have to lose?
* Could we have 20 Sam Bennett's?
* James Neal is so disappointing. I really hoped he'd redeem himself in the playoffs after a crappy regular season but nope.
* Mantra: "If we lose, we're only down 2-1, it's not the end of the world. It's not the end of the world. It's not the end of the world." (This feels like the end of the world.)

Like another poster said, last night it happened numerous times without a call.
I fell the truth is somewhere closer to being called less than more and definitely less in the playoffs. But....Tkachuk

Sure. Brodie has the team being outshot 40-20. He is the biggest problem right now.

I am trying not to overreact but does this roster need a major shake up?

Only two lines + Bennett are caring to playing anything that resembles hard hockey, and one of them isn't our top line.
Only 3 defenders are playing well enough to even try containing Mackinnon.
I agree there should be some shakeups, but the players arent helping.

I don't expect a simpleton like you to understand this. . .
There is a big difference between grabbing the visor between the helmet and visor like Tkachuk did and grabbing the helmet.
The visor is never coming off of the helmet. A 'grabbed' helmet might come off the head.

Ducks series in 2017 had me absolutely fuming by the end of it. Mostly because of that blatant high stick goal that should have been called of but wasn't.
