Honestly, anyone complaint about the reffing needs to give their head a shake. This is all on the Flames. They look slow, tired, disinterested, etc. Maybe if they didn’t play like children they would draw some penalties.

Colorado has a full games’ worth of shots in one period. Yes we are getting jobbed by the refs and that 5-on-3 completely changed the game, but that’s just unacceptable play. If we don’t wake up right effing now this will be over in 5 games.

The Avs are in absolute beast mode. They'd be murdering any NHL team right now... Super subdued effort by the Flames, however. No speed, fear of physicality... Guys coasting into corners. Johnny is playing like a frightened puppy.

I think I've got it figured out. I mean, I'm not an NHL coach, so maybe I'm just totally out to lunch on this. But I have this hunch - and bear with me on this - that the key to success in terms of winning a hockey game is perhaps not to allow your opponent to take 22 shots on goal in the first period.
It's a radical theory, to be sure, but I think I might be onto something here.
