No.
They should be hitting the panic button. They should be hitting it long and hard.

Most elimination games bring out some sort of new reactions from the 'eliminee' team. But the Lightning have played 3 consecutive games in a surprising and increasingly dire position, and they continue to shrivel while CBJ's killer instinct is coming out. I think the last few games are a pretty good indication of how these two teams will react when it's an actual elimination game.

Everyone's favorite Eric Francis on the radio this morning claiming he's ready to put money down on TB to win the Cup. When he heard the odds were 12-1 he wasn't as interested.
I would agree - you'd think the odds would be longer. I guess at this point if you think they can come back and win the series, you'd certainly expect them to be a heavy favorite to win it all.

If you assume each game is 50/50, winning 4 straight is 16-1 odds, but if you want to assume that Tampa returns to playing something remotely resembling the team that won 62 games, maybe the chances of coming back to win this series might be something like 10-1, and then they'd still have to win 3 more rounds. Agreed that the odds should be a lot steeper than 12-1 to win the cup.

4.9:1 to win the series
9:1 to win the East
13:1 to win the Cup
I had money on them to win the cup at 3:1 before the series started.
Funny enough Columbus' odds to win the cup are paying 9:1. Same as Vegas and higher then everyone except Washington, Calgary & NY. Which is nuts IMO.

Games aren't 50/50 though. At least not betting odds.
And if Tampa gets a couple wins under their belt of somehow pushed it to game 7 (which I don't think they will) they would then be heavily favorites to win the series.

At this point, it would be generous to give Tampa better odds to win any given game against a team that's clearly got their number than 60 40.

Not to mention they are still dealing with injuries to key players.

That's absolutely nuts. Whoever made that line needs to give his head a shake.

I was worried about how game 3 might end. Game four is shaping up to be a doozy!
