He should’ve had another suspension for the throat slash gesture to Gio, but Leafs told league office they’d sit him the next game as internal punishment and prevent another suspension on his record.
That last night was pure premeditation. The casualness with which he glides in, having time to think and knowing exactly what he is going to do, and then does it, is worth 10 games or more in the regular season.

Give him 5 but not until after the next game. I normally hate seeing Chara rag doll guys but i would tune in to see him do it to Kadri.

I think he's going to get 1-2 games. He's an effective player, but this inability to harness his emotions is clearly a problem.

Chars, really showed restraint in not pummelling him right after the cross check.

Repeat offender and a wicked cross check to the head, I believe it will be 5 games.

No excuse for crosschecking a player in the face. Would be fine to never see him again.

I'm gong to guess 5 games minimum.
Not just a repeat offender, but habitual offender.
Hit to the head.
Used his stick to do it.
Hit was predatory.
puck was nowhere near the player hit.

Way more important things on the line than petty one on one battles.
Something Kadri has never understood.

Nazem Kadri, in December 2017:

Stupid, stupid, stupid play by Kadri. He deserves whatever he gets and more.
But for those who like to look for root causes I think more needs to be made of Debrusk’s ratty plays and if the knee on knee is called it doesn’t escalate not to mention that was a pretty greasy hit on Marleau. Typical ####ty NHL reffing.

The Leafs will have to clear some cap space this summer and I wonder if this latest incident will have the Leafs looking to move him for draft picks or prospects in June.

The knee-on-knee can be debated but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the hit on Marleau. He made sure he hit him from the side and there was no way he timed it at that particular spot.

Him and Nylander are the obvious candidates.
Kadri is actually a really good player but his lack of anger management gets him in trouble.

Guy seems to love cross checking people in the face or from behind to the back of the neck. What a pos player.

Dumb and lazy, respectively. I imagine the return for Nylander would be pretty decent though, very skilled.
Hope Kadri doesn’t end up in Edmonton or something.

Holy hell! That was bad! I can't see anything less than 3 games. Sheesh. What a nutcase. All he is doing is hurting his teams chances. What a selfish play. Playoffs have been completely insane so far.
