Meh, They just don't appeal to me. I'm sure they are hilarious or whatever, just have no interest.

Shrug.

Triple whoosh i guess lol...

To be fair it's a quote from a movie 25 years ago with many more quotable lines if you're old enough to remember them.

Have you considered staying in Ottawa until June? As I recall the last time you came home the Flames lost a few games.

Tidbit some people going to the game may find interesting, the McDonald’s on McLeod and 39th has 4 nuggets for $1 today.

Nah, that was in October. They were pretty good around Christmas, if my memory serves correctly.

I think CGY focused on themselves last game and we saw the results (both offensive, defensive and special teams). CGY can play a great playoff style of hockey. But if CGY were in COL's shoes what would they do?
If shutout previously, how would you respond in terms of tactics? I'm sure CGY has considered and will be prepared for that.

The trouble is, that's not an easy answer for the Avs - think of all the things they did good - they covered the open d-man and actually intercepted/interrupted a bunch of Smith's early pass attempts, they had 10 high-danger chances, and they didn't take a million penalties.

The only thing the Avs can do is play the MacKinnon line less or split it right up and hope that this somehow mimics depth.

But watching that game, I wasn't thinking there was some particular change-up that the Avs forgot to utilize. In a way, I thought both teams played kind of a similar game. So maybe the Avs could go to a 131 trap or something but it's sure hard to see how that would get them any goals. They play a speedy game, or at least, that's where their scoring comes from - rushes and rebounds.

So I think if I'm Calgary, I go play the same game, and I expect it to work again, because the problem isn't the system, it's not whether to carry or dump, it's not some technical issue. The problem is the Avs can't match the Flames for depth. There's scoring threats on all our lines.

I think it boils down to the notion of the 'desperation level'. CGY should not try to match but always be the team that leads or asserts - and it's really about executing. Outwork the other team and the depth and overall quality will shine through.

This is my plan for tonight as well, didn’t drink at Game 1 so I’ll be making up for it tonight... hoping to lose my voice

Avs need to change something up.

Last game was the softest of any game 1 this year, and Smith played out of his mind. I assume they try to muck it up and get in Smith’s face.
