WCQF-G2: (W2) Colorado -0 @ (P1) Calgary –1 ~ 8:30pm (SNW-E-O-P, CBC, TVA, NBCSN)
Welcome to Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarter Finals
Projected starters, not confirmed at the time of posting https://leftwinglock.com/starting-goalies:
Calgary Flames – Mike Smith
Colorado Avalanche – Philipp Grubauer The Flames took Game 1 by a score of 4-0. Tkachuk potted two with Mangiapane sliding the game winner past Graubauer.
The 3M line did a great job shutting down the first line of the Avalanche, those efforts will be required again in order to win game 2.
Calgary Flames infographic from game 1 courtosey of the Flames official Twitter account:
Regular season records:
(P1) Calgary Flames 50-23-7-107
(W2) Colorado Avalanche 37-29-14-88 Best of 7 Series: (P1) Calgary Flames – 1
(W2) Colorado Avalanche – 0 The game will be broadcast from the beginning on SportsNet West and SportsNet Pacific, then SportsNet Ontario, SportsNet East and CBC will join the broadcast after the finish of the Toronto-Boston matchup. For our American friends the game will be on NBCSN. Et pour les personnes qui parle en français, le jeux est sur TVA ce soir.
Go Flames Go

I'd like Smith to get at least a couple more periods of perfect hockey so CBC can start showing "Longest Shutout Streaks to Start the Playoffs" graphics.
I wonder what the record is?

I'm out here with ya and I feel your pain. I think the thing I miss about living on the west coast the most is watching sports at reasonable hours.
Hopefully we get a performance worth staying up for like in Game 1. If they keep playing like that I'll be more than happy to get written up for falling asleep at my desk every other day until June.

Yeah man, it is an excellent start time and very happy about it, 7:30 pm Pacific.
Normal Sat. games start just 30 minutes earlier so it's not a big deal. Look at the Central time zone teams having to start their games at 8:45 pm on weeknights.

You're assuming that I'm happy about the regular 11:00pm start times on Saturday.
They annoy me (especially where there is 2,567,821 channels showing the same game, no need to delay the late game so everyone can watch, have the late game on SNW and SNP at the regular time and have SNE, and SNO join, or put the late game on SN360 or SN1... if the game is taking place on the Pacific Time Zone fine, but don't fudge the Mountain start times.)
Really the game is starting 1h30 later than usual. I don't want to be up until 3 or 4 tomorrow morning, but what can I do?
Maybe try and get a nap in after the little one goes down? Frankly, I think a 3:30am start like Dmac has would be preferable as you can get 5-6 hours in before the game starts.
Then again, I'm a cranky old man, and am bitter the NHL doesn't consult me on scheduling matters.

Let's keep it rolling and take a pretty commanding 2-0 lead heading into Denver.
Go Flames Go!! Score a few early and I think that will really rattle the Avalanche.
Great day to watch sports.. Masters, Raptors start playoffs, hockey!

270:08 by George Hainsworth in 1930 against the Bruins.
249:15 by Ilya Bryzgalov in 2006 against the.........Avalanche!
Are the records...but no idea how to find from a series start.
