Just had my gf check on her phone, CBC Gem is the app. Free streaming inside Canada, no blackouts. Limited to 30fps. NHL app with subscription also streams with no blackouts at 60fps.

CBC stream worked great, just hooked my lap top up to the tv and used my cell as a wifi hot spot. Thanks again and highly recommend to others.

I ended up having to watch the game after it was over and avoid all social media. Can anybody in the US confirm if the cbc.ca worked for them and was a good option?

Similar to the 'You don't turn off free porn' episode from Friends, I am similarly scared to discuss this blackout hack online...

However, my set up:
- iPhone with expressvpn app set to Toronto
- Stream CBC via website (Need Canada based iTunes account to get GEM app)
- Screen mirror to AppleTV (AirPlay did not work)

Picture quality was suspect at times, but all in all worked really well. Only issue was I could not keep tabs on CP, or respond to trash talking texts, without interrupting the feed.

In the Canadian criminal code there is nothing illegal about watching a reddit stream.

The streamers may be breaking the law in their respective countries. They also may not be.

But there is nothing illegal about watching the streams on reddit, at least in Canada

The HD quality of OTA is exceptional

Hook up to TV, scan and watch. A cheap indoor antenna will be every bit as good as an expensive one so long as you are in signal path.

tvfool.com will give you an indication of what antenna you might need and how many channels you can expect to get
So, update: this works great to get CTV, CityTV and a couple of other channels. The only thing I seem to NOT get is CBC. Which of course is the reason I bought the thing. Weird.

That sucks.
And is strange. Tvfool suggests CBC should be your strongest signal (from an approximate location) and in line of site.
And of course it would work that way, meaning that it doesn't.

I recently got SlingTV (blue) for hockey streaming, and I hate it. I can't watch any eastern conference games. They're the only ones that aren't really late in the night.

I think NBC does a good job, but there aren't many other options available.

Damn I can’t seem to find the nbcsn stream as I wanted to watch that feed. But it seems there is only sportnet/CBC and Altitude available online. Anyone know if nbcsn has a broadcast tonight?

I have an antenna for a bedroom TV that's not hooked up to my satellite, CBC is nice and clear. I'm sure you tried but maybe just readjust position and scan again.

I am in Hawaii right now. Watched both games on ipad with NordVPN and sportsnet app, registered to my cable subscription. I turned off location services when I setup the app.
