IMO pinder brings more to the show or radio than wills.

They do.

I think it is because they have very similar personalities. Both believe their opinion is the right opinion 99% of the time. Honestly, both have the exact same condescending tones when discussing topics.

Wills contributions aren’t relevant in any way to Pinder letting his personal dislike of Wills ruin an otherwise good segment. He’s paid to be a pro. When he and Boomer used to bicker it was funny and they’d move on right away. What Pinder is doing with Will is attack everything he says all the time.
A radio host needs to maintain composure and do everything they can to elevate discussion. Not belittle their guests and cohost.
Wills is the PBP guy. He’s not going anywhere. And as for the segment in question, Wills brought way more to the table than Pinder because Wills was actually trying to talk hockey and share an opinion whereas it seemed that Pinder just wanted to dismiss any opinion that didn’t perfectly align with his own.

Who said they don’t want the radio guys to have opinions? Not sure where you got that one.
This is about having interesting and respectful discussion. It should be informative and engaging, especially when they disagree.
We call people who do what Pinder is doing trolls and they are frequently told to stop making discussions personal. That’s exactly what’s happening on the fan.

I hate his kind of drive by garbage. It’s one thing to be critical and provide some halfway constructive feedback and opinions.
Comments like this make you look bad, not Nault.

Disagree. Nault is brutal he sounds drunk when he talks, has some of the worst takes on the radio and is always interrupting the others on the air. The drive by is fine because I think it is a widely held opinion.
It is like saying Edmonton is no good. Do people need to back that up or does it make flames fans look bad, not the Oilers?

If you can’t tell the difference between those two things already, me explaining it won’t help.

It's funny how polarizing Pinder is; seems you either love him or you hate him. I personally think he's awesome but I could see why many wouldn't think so I guess, he does have an arrogance to him. I just think he's funny and knowledgeable. And he's like a year older than me so probably relatability as well.
I actually really hate sports analytics but I like him, go figure..

Is it any different from saying you can't stand Eric Francis? These are big boys who work in the media. It shouldn't hurt their feelings.

Yeah, I'm done with the morning show. Turn on the radio on my way to work after the first Flames game of the playoffs expecting to hear some hockey talk, and what do I get? Warrener and Boomer yapping about how many guitars Boomer has. What songs he knows how to play. Kijiji.
I'm convinced these guys just aren't much into hockey. Say what you want about Pinder, but the guy at least has a keen interest in the sports he's paid to cover.

They talked hockey for 2 hours solid earlier this morning.

Then I guess the 8 - 8:30 time slot is when they're just mailing it in. Because it's like that every morning during my commute, which is why I stopped listening a couple weeks after Pinder left. I thought they might up their game in the playoffs. Nope.

Oh wait.

Don't give RDC that much credit.
And it's going to be Red Deer University (larff) soon.

It was nothing but hockey talk from 6-8. They had Friedman on around 740 which was nice.

Flames won a playoff game last night and Rhett and Boomer spent 30 minutes talking about Boomer's guitars this morning.
EDIT: = Cliff noticed the same thing.
Also, Rhett thought the game was boring.

Right, but then the next guy that wants variety says all they ever talk about is hockey.

To be fair to Rhett the game was only exciting for Flames fans and even at that it was a total snoozer for the first half of the game IMO. I care about wins not style points this time of year but I can't imagine many people out east were going to stay up to watch the game to the finish after the first period.

To be fair to the morning show, Boomer was making fun of Rhett for complaining about the game, basically making fun of the "in my day comments"
Also, while I admit that I could be in the minority here, I love Ryan Pinder and I am disappointed that I cant listen this afternoon to hear how he brings up Smith's performance last night

They simply cant talk over and over and over about the same thing for 3 hours, not only would it be horrible to listen too, it would make for bad radio and tuned elsewhere listeners.
People seem to want the guys on radio to talk about a 2 1/2 hour hockey game....for 3 hours.
That's just not feasible.
