Mike Smith... that is all. Game 1: Flames win 4-0. 1-0 series lead.
I will wait for Gaskal even if it means me falling asleep with my phone in my hands and dropping it on my face in bed.

Did Gaskal post the ATL report already?

Brodie had a solid game as well. Started a bit shaky but then him and Gio shut it down.

I enjoyed being there. I sat next to two serious fans from Lethbridge. They were drunk(so was I), the sections was drinking.
What a game! So much fun, sports are the best drug!

Only one game but I give a ton of credit to the coaching staff for the way they have handled Smith to get him to where he was tonight. I guess that's why they get paid the medium bucks.
Was really impressed with how strong Lindholm was on the puck tonight. Was winning puck battles all over the ice.
With Colorado riding their top line that hard I don't know how they can possibly win a long series.

Gio is one. His first playoff game was April 17, 2007. He scored a goal in that game.

I am personally not a fan of the towels at all.... We certainly don't need them to have a RED stadium! GFG!

I enjoyed them. They added to the atmosphere. Better than inflatable noise makers that don't last the night.

Just got home from the game. Great crowd tonight! I love playoff hockey, we need more of this!
I was really bummed about the weather though. The Red Lot could have been a lot more fun. Oh well.
And yes, waving towels is lame. It’s a Vancouver thing that was born out of surrender. They make a cool souvenir though.

Playoffs-Backlund is a whole other beast, isn't he? He basically owned the ice for long stretches of this game while going up against the Avs top line. Also, every single one of our lines gave the Avs lots of trouble tonight, and obviously it became to much in the end. Keep it up Flames!

That was fun! The second seemed extraordinarily long. It was odd. Glad to see everyone pitching in, but wish Mony would show a bit more teeth out there. He did well on face offs though, right? Really surprised that Johnny is developing such a defensive side, nice. Chucky and Hathaway are a couple of beauties. Gotta love that grit. Gio and Brodie look like they may regain some of the on ice magic they used to conjure. Smith seemed a bit dewy eyed during his post game interview. I think he was really touched by the crowd's chants.

Just got home from the game. I never doubted Smith. I knew his playoff experience would give him the starter edge over Rittich. I'm glad he had a great first game and can keep it going. Great atmosphere at the Dome. Man playoff hockey its fun
